2010 Census

I was wondering for those of you who have children specifically Phil-Am or American-Filipino or how ever you wish to view the child's race, how did you choose the child's race on the 2010 Census?

In Hawaii our Census list to choose race from was very broad and politically correct for the race of Hispanics, blacks Asian and Pacific Islanders .But for our child, on list D for Hawaii was only "Some Other Race" Wow! What did you write in?

For me I put Japanese and White, my wife Filipino. I guess your kids would be Hapa-Haole just like me. But I guess you can put Filipino and white.

We put white and Filipino, I just found it odd, (not to mention the oddness of Some Other Race on the list) that the classification of Amerasian as a race would not be on the list, after all our government along with USCIS has classified children as such under Public Law 97- 359 Amerasian as the child, sun or daughter of a United State Citizen, the term some other race gives me the feeling of someone who would be irregular or a leftover product . Just my thoughts....
