School Bullying - Why Are Kids Such Wimps These Days When They Get Picked On?

I highly doubt the issue is kids becoming wimps and instead is about kids being more brave about being mean? Parents too busy to discipline their kids, or perhaps to teach their children confidence. I went to Christian schools but there were still incidences of harassment towards some students who ended up leaving the schools. That wasn't 20 years ago though, more like 12-16 years ago. It was there, even in a safe environment. One issue was against a girl who was overweight. To be honest there were others the same weight as her and I was chubby myself but never was teased about it ever. Her very timid personality seemed to make her a target which is really a shame. People target the weak. In my opinion it's part of the icky side of human nature that some exhibit much more than others.

There is a huge assumption here that bullies in the past didn't manage to intimidate and cause children to harm themselves. I think you'll find that it did happen in the past if you bother to find the information.

Yeah I am sure if I asked my parents, they would have stories. Which just reminded me that my mom did actually get some bullying in middle school, which made her not want to go to school every morning. The reasons were because she was poor, unstylish, and overweight with a crazy mother. Her HS days changed because she lost weight(got a little taller, slimmed out), but she had a very hard time when she was younger. I love my mom so much and wish I could have been there to kick someones butt for her. (hehe j/k, just a protective instinct coming out LOL)

I went to a Christian school in my 1st year of grade school. I was the only Asian. Everyone saw me and pinched my thigh until I got bruised. It was so bad that I could not walk for a few days. My mother sued the school because the teacher didn't do a thing.

The school went bankrupt afterward.
