Hello,

I have an unusual problem. My wife was originally going to be my sponsor. However 2 months ago she started developing very bad back pain, and was advised by her doctor to leave her job where she has to do heavy lifting. She now has no income. She is still unable to move around properly and is still undergoing doctor's tests. She is registering for Medicare as I have not drawn a salary in just under 2 years, and we have no health insurance or savings. Her salary was so low that her mother would have probably had to come in as a joint sponsor as well anyway.

We have just received our AOS documents. I assume the correct course of action here is to simply find another sponsor? i.e. her mother earns a good wage and can step-in.

Can someone please advise if this is the correct way forward, and if there are any possible complications on the horizon due to the medicaid situation? As is the norm with life, the timing of the back problem couldn't have been any worse.

Thank you for any help,

-Mike
