I read it as he doesn't like them because they can do what they did, but he acknowledges that they have the right do to.

It's kinda like saying I have a problem with AZ po-po pullin' over po' brown folk driving around in beat up cars, but I do acknowledge they (will soon) have the right to do it. I just wouldn't go to Arizona once the right kicks in, is all.

Paul has a very draconian attitude to most things, I can't see why he would be so girly about a home owners association having a draconian approach to non payment of fees. I would have thought that would be right up his ally so I can't see what he is objecting to. Why object to something that actually appeals to your sense of what's appropriate?

Just because someone doesn't want to partake in something, doesn't mean they can note the 'right' or in some cases 'benefit' to certain scenarios.

I assume you forgot the 'not' in there. If so, I agree completely. A minimum of 5 times annual salary if your wife is young and can work. If she's spent a lifetime raising your kids, think more.

Why do you not want to take part? If you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear. Anyone who plays by the rules is not going to be penalised. I don't get your reluctance to partake. Perhaps you can explain it better than, it's good enough for others but not for me?

It's not a matter of being afraid. It's not a matter of not liking it. It's a simple matter of I don't like people. Therefore for me to put myself in any situation where I might have to interact a bit more than my choosing, it isn't very logical.

Others can tend to the sheep and deal with them accordingly. I personally would rather avoid the sheep and the herders entirely.

See, you attribute my disagreeance of having to deal with other people as my sole basis for everything. That's not the case at all.

Some interaction is necessary to make it through every day life. I just try to avoid stupidity (though that's hard figuring I have to drive around with idiots in rush hour every day).

HOAs are a waste of my time. I don't like them because they are making me pay for 'neighborhood amenities' in which I will never use/have a desire to use. On top of that, they'll tell me what I can and cannot do on my own property (like accidently leave my garbage can out an extra day). - Which in turn leads me to deal with some nagging jerk off who thinks he's king of the jungle, or in this case the neighborhood.

Also, anyone who would sign a contract that allows a third-party outside of the mortgage company (and government in areas with property tax) to have control of their property is just a dammed fool.

No, see posting on a message board isn't really necessarily 'interacting' with people. You don't have to be annoyed by their breathing, you don't have to be annoyed by their mannerisms, etc.

There's no 'expectations' here as far as saying something or not saying something. You can ignore a person's post or not. You can close a window and be done with it in a second.
