Hi Everyone,

We just received our Initial interview appt letter scheduled for June 16th at our local USCIS office but we never received any update or notification that our case was transferred from Chicago to CSC or USCIS local office. Is this normal? We are excited but kind of worried what this means. Does this mean we will receive the greencard soon? We applied for EAD as well but so far have received nothing in the mail. Is it normal for cases to not be transferred?

They don't notify you unless you are getting transferred to the CSC.

Your file gets processed initially in Missouri (no notification of move) and from there it gets transferred to your local office or CSC, again, only notified if you go to CSC.

There's no reason for concern, you are on an expected track of processing.

Are you sure it's not a Biometrics letter? Mine at the top says "ASC Appointment Letter". There's a big barcode on it and a line in small writing under there saying "To process your application...... capture your biometrics".

Vanessa, their timeline says they have already completed biometrics....why would there be any question about whether or not it is an interview letter. They even use the specific language in the OP found on the letter "Initial Interview"

OP is in my April filers group and I got her confused with another person who posted on the same day who got a letter WITHOUT biometrics. I should have checked (I remembered her pic which is why I didn't bother)

Oopsie. Oh well. CONGRATS on the interview :D

Thanks for the responses!

Yes we already finished our walk-in biometrics about 2 weeks ago so now we are just waiting for the EAD card or greencard after the interview. We are wondering if we still might receive an EAD or not. Does it come directly from our local office or from the Chicago office?

It would come from the National Benefits Center (Missouri), so if you are already to the interview, my best W.A.G. is that the EAD won't be processed.
