has anyone brought their child , and what was the time frame?

do they go through same process? embassy , medical etc?

finding it difficult to get any similar stories , timelines!

any help would be great , i just want to tell him gently that he could be in for a very long wait.......

I am assuming your Hubby is the USC? Did the marriage between you and him occur before the child turned 18? It will be approx 9-12 months baring any RFE's. Yes the process is the same, emabassy interview, medical etc. However he will more than likley come as a CR1 if you have not been married to your husband for more than 2 years and then you will also have to lift conditions in 1 year and 9 months. Hope this helps.

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

I wouldn't bring my 'kids' here to the U.S.

All depends on the 'child' I suppose but mine are not the most disciplined people in the world and they are better off under the welfare state of the UK/Spain - at least there is a safety net. At least they can retire at 55 or so without having to worry about healthcare costs. People in the US have no safety net really and must always find 6 to 12k pa in healthcare costs if they retire earlier than 65 or 67 as it will be.

I have to pay a buy in to Medicare for 7 years at 6kpa and I am lucky. Nope mine couldn't make it here.

However, if your child is a bright, healthy, self disciplined professional - to - be who is not overly attached to UK food and culture and values, then that's different and it could be a great success.

A Capitalist society is for the winners in life - and the others are cannon fodder either literally or metaphorically.

All depends on the child

PS It's great for me !
