I ordered my husbands ticket online but opted to pay by cc since it is more secure versus sending the moneyand paying that huge Western Union Fee. they scrutinize everything though due to the 419. It worked out well even though at the last minute I had to change his flight , I actually ended up saving about $600 because they helped me find one for cheaper..and he got his frequent flyer perks. I did have to mail the paper tick to him though for the flight as it will be sent to the buyter versus the traveler. He had his flight itenerary emailed to him though as well so he could take it to the Embassy for his interview. You are only able to purchase round trip tickets from Naija though they dont allow one way for some reason. We have flown through KLM, BA and AF, I dont like BA at all and KLM and AF are partners through NWA so look on that site and you might see fares for both airlines , if not check both sites for the best rate then call the Airline and ask about that particular fare price, they were very helpful to me.

What website did you use to purchase the tickets? You mentioned also that you had to change his flight - did the website let you do that also?

we used nwa.com, but I paid over the phone by cc. When we rescheduled his flight I was charged charged a nominal fee, but still got a little over $600 returned to my account because the rep helped me find another really good rate. Hre flew KLM. NWA is partners with both companies and I think KLM bought Air France. My husband also gained frequent flyer miles (enough for him to fly free in the US round trip).

north american has constant fairs six months out and their websit flynaa.com now allows selection of lagos for round trip or one way to JFK. The cost of round trip is nearly the same as one way from lagos. ~$1100 with taxes.

The flight is about 10 hrs from JFK and beats any other flight (timewise) that lands in another country. landing in another country adds at least 10 hours to your already long trip. I used Jetblue as my domestic airline to get to JFK for $79 one way... i purchased 7 days out.

North American Reservations seems to fill the plane from back to front. The plane is not as full either way and you should try to change your seating to be near the front when checking in. The front is where you are likely to find a couple of joining seats empty to stretch out in. I usually sit as close to business class as possible. (business class is a ghost section!) 1st or 2nd rows behind business class are usually free. Even at the window! I think they fill these seats last to reserve for children flying alone. One down side is they kept serving food from front to back and ran out of choices of meals each time by the time they got to my seat. The food is not bad but if you can bring your own you could do better. Drinks are plenty but who likes to drink alot on a plane? I think they showed 3 new family friendly release movies (comedies or action without nudity).

Every day is one day closer to the end of my visa journey.

 We are pretty excited about our upcoming trip with NAA in January to Lagos! (Hubby's 1st return visit! Only wished we were leaving directly from NY, oppossed to Oregon... That way we could save ourselves the cross coastal flight with Jetblue. In any case, like you mentioned, the ticket price was pretty good (Like $480 one-way + tax). Thanks for the heads-up regarding seating assignments! (I have fairly long legs, so you know I am always seeking out that emergency exit row!

The only other airlines that we noticed offered good rates were Iberia & Virgin Atlantic. However, the lay overs were insane :clock:
