Hi,

I am the petitioner trying to sponsor my wife. I just got a job this month that pays only $8/hour. I want to use my dad as a co-sponsor. Can he use the same I-864 form. He makes $9.90/hour. Will both of our income be sufficient. Please let me know.

Required income for a household of 2 is $18,212. So, with your dad as a co-sponsor, you should be okay. Check USCIS form I-864P for further info on required income.

Regardless of whatever your income is, if you use a co-sponsor, you must file I-864. And your co-sponsor files I-864A. Make sure you keep these in line.

Assuming it's you, your dad, and your spouse/fiance are in this household, you need a total of 22,887USD yearly income to sponsor someone according to http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf. So with your income, you're going to need the co-sponsor.
