Hello everyone! I have a question on the I-134 I hope anyone can answer.

1. On item #7 - I recently got a new permanent job this month & I'm about to submit a letter of verification of my employment and I know I will make well over the poverty line. Does anyone know if this makes a big deal with the embassy since I am about to start this job? I was recently unemployed for the year 2009.

2. I also was collecting unemployment for the whole year of 2009 and doing consulting work whenever possible that barely made the poverty line. I was told that unemployment insurances was still a form of income since its my money I put in the system THEREFORE -

How I would I state that in the I-134 - do I state it in item #7 what I collected last year in 2009? or should I state my new current income from my new employer? I did state in my I-129F that I was self-employed too however things have changed recently.

(Note: I do have the previous years 2007 & 08 where I'm submitting W2s where my net income shows 48k. I figured they'll see that I have to ability to get work (which I just did) in the future and understand what matters is that it calculates out during my fiance's status of adjustment.)

(Note: In addition I'm also submitting a letter of consultant verification with all companies that currently employ me indefinitely on & off to show additional income (however not that much therefore I'm counting on my new job and assets to cover that) and I also own property valued hmmmm???( maybe worth nothing in today's market) at about $400,000 with a mortgage principle amounting $350.00. I'm submitting my property tax bill to verify ownership.

3. Based on this info, does anyone know if I need a co-sponsor? I'm concerned that the embassy may make a big deal that I'm only employed for only a short time. Thoughts??

I want to submit this I-134 to my fiance asap since we are planning to schedule her interview sometime next month.

Any suggestions would help!

Thanks guys!

If you carefully examine the I-134, you'll see it asks for current income. For the employed the figure is the annual salary currently being earned even if for a new job. It's either annual salary or for full time hourly, the hourly rate times 2080. Only the currently self employed use the total income from line 22 of the most recent tax return as "current income".

Thanks push. I figured I'd put my new employer on line #7 with my annual salary. I guess it doesn't hurt to add letters from firms I do consulting for on a a part-time basis to help, what do you think? is providing too much info open a can of worms?

Should I still submit my W2s from the last 3 years? I was told to do so.

Dumb question - where is line #22? am I looking at the right I-134 form?
