Unfortunately I have already paid him to prepare the I-129F and half to be on retainer if we need him in case they denied my petition as well as to appear at the adjustment interview.

And we entered into an agreement that I would pay him the full amount, so I cant just cut him loose or I am legally liable to pay him in full. so why not just keep him on if he is already paid, you know?

Ah, oh well. No big deal, just research the process so you can ask focused questions and keep an eye on him. Like: "We have exceeded the average time between so-and-so stage and so-and-so stage. Please inquire at DoS as to the status of our case." Good luck!

Well Ladies and Gents, I got the second official notice of action from the USCIS, they said they sent it May 11th, but I got it today, so 1 week.

So at the end of this week, I am gonna call the NVC and talk to them, I was reading the NOA2 and it stated that NVC would send me a notification in the mail, so Im curious because I hadnt read this happening before.

Yep, you'll get a letter from NVC saying they received your approved petition and are sending it on to the Embassy in Russia.

Suggest you call into NVC in another week, get the new casefile # (give them the USCIS receipt #) .

Then in another few weeks, start calling DOS, asking for case status (with the NVC Casefile #).

IMO, receiving 'that letter' from NVC is hit or miss. You might get it, you might not.

Well the lawyer got the NVC letter with the case number, do I still need to call the NVC?
