My IR1/CR1 process just got started; meaning I got NOA1 3 weeks ago.

I was wondering when I should get the proof of employment letter from my HR department. Is it too early to get this from my HR department right now? or should I wait till the USCIS approves the application and sends it to the NVC? My company's HR department takes 2 weeks to produce this once requested.

Basically I do not want to add more time to an already painful process, so can I get this proof of employment right now? IS there any requirement stating that this letter needs to be dated within certain timeframe, etc?

They want recent evidence so don't request it too early. Maybe wait till I-864 is generated.

We rec. an RFE because we were missing this and they told me it should be recent.

It is too early for you to ask for the verification of employment letter from your HR. USCIS will approve your petition, then it will be sent to NVC. You can request a letter from your HR when NVC will receive your AOS fee Bill ($70.00). The timeline is about a month after your petition is approved.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
