I recently recieved the NOA2, and USCIS approved my petition. According to VJ's CR-1/IR-1 guide, NVC is suppose to send my wife a packet. Now my wife has moved and is staying with her family (saving money). So now her address that was on the I-130 and G-325 is now different. Does anyone know if NVC or the counsulate contacts me or my wife to verfiy the address before they send out any correspondence? (Colombia doesnt have a good mail system, if any). I'm most like going to call NVC to inquire about it, but I was wondering if anyone has ran into this situation. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Also im confused about something, she will most likely assign me as her agent. Do I have to send original documents i.e. police, birth, marriage certs). I assumed from reading the Dept of state website, that I just pay the I-864 processing fee and IV fees and She would hold on to the required documents for her interview. But I read here on VJ that i might be sending these documents to NVC. Can someone please clarify this for me.

Thanks in advance, sorry if these questions were already asked.

I suggest, she can download the package which contains the instructions for the medical appointment from the embassy website here and the appointment letter wich is the package 4

We can all make a difference. Please recycle

If u are her agent u are the one mailing out the original documents. Those documents are required to be sent after you pay the IV Processing Fee with the form DS-230.

The original documents will be returned to her on the day of the interview

Most people 'push' things into NVC, instead of 'waiting on NVC' to send anything.

Similar question today - but with the exact answers that you need:

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Do you know if orginal documents can be scanned and sent to nvc via email? I have read posts about people doing this.

Only for NVC Electronic Processing - and - yer country/Embassy doesn't participate in it. This may change, over time - you could monitor http://travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4411.html and see if your country is listed there.

Did you read the link I supplied, moments ago? No ? *sigh*

I checked it out and Bogota is not listed there.

I have sent the originals, but as mentioned before you have to wait until the documents are requested do not send them ahead of time cuz that might delay the process.

Understood. Is your wife/fiance in Colombia? How did NVC send out the DS3032 or you just emailed them once you got your case number? Im just liitle worried she wont be able to recieve anything because of her address change.

Most PPL do not wait 'to be mailed' anything.

Instead - they PUSH into NVC - please read my top link, it's chock full of info FOR YOU.

FWIW - yer 'post NOA-2 problem' is 100 negated IF, and only IF, you do 'The Push'.

Find that link, read all, and Good Luck ! (ps - ya, that means you should click the link first, prior to reading)

IMO - it means NOTHING. Is she really waiting for this contact?

OK - then if yer wife really wants to wait - let her wait.

Sometime 3 months later - NVC will notice that nothing's been done on her casefile,

and send her something.

Since 'nothing was done' at NVC - NVC won't have her updated address, either, so if 'something gets sent' - it'll be sent to her old address.

Sure - you can 'wait for postal notification' - but it's pegged at 3 months per thing -

so - 3 months go by, get a DS-3032

another 3 months - get AOS fee bill via postal mail

another 3 months - get IV fee bill via postal mail.

Do you really want to wait, on postal mail notification ?

MOST PPL DO NOT WAIT - MOST PPL DRIVE IT ALL, at NVC. My top link describes how to do that. Usually ppl FINISH all at NVC within 2 months, when they DRIVE IT.

IMO - her 'change of address' is a non-issue, for now - her address will be updated on the DS-230.

Good Luck !
