Locked out os USCIS website?

This evening when I tried to log into the USCIS website to check for any activity I was not able to log in and I got the following message

"It was reported to us that your computer or internet gateway has been locked out for a select period of time. This is due to an unusually high rate of use. If you feel this has occurred incorrectly, please contact the Customer Service Center for assistance at 1.800.375.5283."

Has anyone else every had this happen to them? I do log in once or twice every day just to check for touches or other activity but I never expected to get locked out.

How do you log in to check for touches to do that?

I had the same problem too. I think it's because I have been checking my case too often.

No, you have not. The status page is down somehow. You couldn't have been checking your case too often, unless you were checking it every microseconds.

This has happen to me too several time I called this morning and the customer service rep stated they are updating information on the websites and pertaining to cases she suggested to try again later this evening .

When I was going through the K1 visa process (unsuccessfully I must say) during 2008 and 2009, the former version of the USCIS website did indicate that there you might get locked out of the site for awhile if you checked to often. It happen to me then - I waited a little while (maybe 2 weeks) then I was able to access it again. I am assuming they have the same controls in place on the current site - so, not to worry. We all probably just check it way too much praying for that miracle of an answer sooner than the time-line projection. Just hang in there - I am sure we are all ok.

Same thing happened to us - we tried to check our account and got the locking message. Hoping it's a temporary USCIS system problem.
