Hi

I think I have a problem and looking for help!

After all this waiting, if the estimations are still accurate, we may get our I-129F approval this week and start on the K-1 visa, which again looking at the timelines could be possible completed by mid - late July. The problem is we have planned a cruise in August leaving out of Texas. I am know finding out that he can not enter the US under the K-1 visa and then us go on this cruise. So I am wondering if the K-1 visa should get here before our cruise in August, can he enter under normal travel visa, return to UK, then re-enter under the K-1 visa? I am worried after all this waiting for us to be together we should purposely delay the K-1 visa until after the cruise.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Why not delay sending off the P3? If you do that, you can ensure that the interview will not take place until after the cruise is done if you figure out the timings. You can also request on the documents you send back to London that due to travel, your fiance will not be available until after X date in August. Whilst there have been a very few anecdotal instances of people travelling to the US with a K1 visa and asking for it not to be activated, they are few and far between -- ultimately it is down to the CBP officer on the day. Don't risk it. Sit on the documents for a while. :)

Thanks for the help. Yes the cruise has been booked and paid. I think we should get all our documents ready and if all this comes thru don't mail them until he leaves to come here for the cruise and hopefully when he returns no delays.
