That is a problem then. I expect us to strangle each other in OT but it's totally uncalled for to be hateful in the other VISA related sections.

Actually I didn't originally think OT was the place to strangle each other. It's for Off Topic, meaning off immigration topics. That doesn't = fight zone. There used to be more every day questions and weird discussions in OT than news articles...a very long time ago lol. Now it almost seems if someone posts something about their life or missing their SO, people treat it like it's weird because well, it's not a news topic or political debate!! Oh no!! Sincerity not welcome here!

That's because the "big" posters in OT like to post political Op-ed pieces like confetti, little realising that left or right doesn't matter, they're simply deluded if they think it's going to make a difference in OT. To most USC's, politics is too black and white to have meaningful interaction, and the few people on here willing to look into the shades of grey end up letting the topics descend into slanging matches because trying to get a word in edgeways is just so much wasted effort.

Besides, I am the only chocoholic here (that I know of), there are only so many fluffy kitten pictures even I can stand, and the soccer thread was in the UK forum.

Who knows, maybe we'll get back to threads about laundry and other dumb stuff. There's always that chance.
