We're 186. :crying:

But you don't have to get to zero. You'll leap-frog to approval over alot of those older cases that may have been forgotten. I think we were number 60-something when we got approved. If you get bored, start clicking on their links to check them out. #1 on Igor's list hasn't been online since July of last year, so is probably already living in the USA. Every now and then, Capt Ewok goes through and clears out timelines that are really old and were never updated.

Just follow the approvals and when you see some April approvals, start getting excited. When you see a lot of June approvals, call your congressman.

We were supposed to file last year and then we ended up taking a break for 8 months, so it seems like I have been in the process for over a year now even though it's really only been a month!

I've been waiting since I met Rob to start this process....3 years ago, and we are just now able to do it. I understand your impatience and fears but look at the bright side, it's moving faster than it has moved in some time now. Others have been waiting years...through appeals and all kinds of challenges. We should consider ourselves lucky it has not taken as long!!

But what exactly does contacting a congressman achieve? My husband contacted his congressman when we found out that I was in AP, who then made an inquiry. He, or his office, were not satisfied with the response so they initiated a second inquiry themselves. Again the response was generic. My husband has contacted his senator, and her office has yet to receive a reply. This coming Monday it will be 12 weeks since my interview - the same one where I was approved and told that I'd get my passport back in a few days. Needless to say, I'm still waiting.

Tree--- that was sorta said in a lighthearted manner because the OP was ready to call a congressman after waiting only 26 day on the NOA2. I was suggesting, at the very least, waiting until most June applications were being approved.

I personally think contacting a congressman should be when you've got some major screw ups and are well past the posted processing times. There are only two senators in California representing probably 38 million+ constituents, so they (and their staff) are probably way too busy to faff around with minor personal issues, affecting only one person. Congressmen who do send off letters to USCIS often get the response that the case is within normal processing times. Your case is one that is out of the norm and a call your representative was in order, but didn't give you any resolution. Sorry you got stuck in visa-hell.

Thanks, and don't worry, I understood it as light-hearted :)

I agree with everything you say - I just wanted to point out that contacting one's representatives doesn't mean that they can wave a magic wand and everything will be alright - although I think they'd probably love to be able to do that as much as we do! Tomorrow it'll be 12 weeks, almost the 90 days during which 99% of AP cases are resolved - I'd hate to think that I'll be that unlucky that I go much beyond that!!

I LOooOOoove Igor's list! I spent hours and hours pouring over that thing trying to divine the secrets of the universe (or just the K-1 petition process) from that thing. I absolutely loved watching the bars for the months before me go up - and then the bar for my month creep up...I'm getting all giddy just remembering now. I used to go into the detailed timeline reports data and use various statistical functions in excel to try to determine a better date for our own approval. Something to do, I guess. ;)

K-1:

January 28, 2009: NOA1

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

AOS:

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

March 1, 2012: Mailed ROC package

March 7, 2012: Tracking says "notice left"...after a phone call to post office.

More detailed time line in profile.
