I have a quick question. We sent in a request for travel with our AOS. The I131 was approved on 05-03, but we have not recieved the notice in the mail yet and this is quite a few days. This is my first question, how long does it take to recieve the notice and second question is, is there an actual travel document that comes with the notice. I have been unable to find any information on this. Thanks for the help

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place, but could not find a forum for AP documents.

Their APs were received in the mail about a week after the email notice of the approval. Yes it will be a single document that will have their photo taken at biometrics on it.

We got the hard copy approval notice separately (and after) we got the actual travel documents themselves.

They do NOT have the biometrics picture on them, rather they had the passport photo submitted as part of the required evidence attached to them. There are two identical copies. We never used Nik's, but it is my understanding that if you need to use them, bring BOTH copies with you, one will be retained by the IO who lets you in the country, the other will be stamped and returned to you.

That is what we were told, and what we received. I took Vika's GC to her after she had left the country with the AP, and she got back in fine. Do make sure you bring both copies, passport, and a copy of your marriage license just in case. We wanted the IO to be able to connect all the dots.
