You're adjusting from a K1 visa right?

You had a full medical for the K1 visa and it's valid 1 year.

So if your medical is still valid you do not need a new one.

And there is no need to transcribe it as is already in your file.

Ok, i see.. :)

Thank you so much for the reply.. :D

Hi, thank you for the reply :)

So, i need to go to a CS?

We tried to look for a civil surgeon yesterday, but they don't want to transcribe my vacc record. They want to do the whole medical :(

Seems like everyone has helped you here... and yes if you already had a medical for the K1 prior to filing AOS, you don't need a new I-693 - this exam you already took will be good for 1 year, and you can get your incomplete vaccines and have the doctor make a vaccination record/slip for you during this time. You may bring your copy (if you have any) of your medical exam, just to be sure.

Sorry I overlooked that.

Good luck!

And there is no need to transcribe it as is already in your file. WRONG. You adjusted from a K1 so you should know that this is completely incorrect information. If the vaccinations are not up to date then an I-693 (vaccinations only) needs to be completed. The Vaccination sheet IS NOT tied to the "one year validity" rule of the medical.

It MUST be in the I-693 and signed by a CS as the shot record in any other form will be completely ignored by the CO

OP, I'm going to post this big so you notice it.

------

The interview letter you received is standard and is not changed for any person applying for AOS. As you have not received an RFE for the I-693 it appears they have accepted your medical (and vaccinations) as is.

Vaccinations and medical are NOT to be confused as being the same thing in relation to "valid for one year". They are two separate processes. While the medical itself doesn't need to be done again (if under a year), any vaccinations that are needed are to be kept up to date. There is no "valid for one year" rule for the vaccinations.

As you have already visited a CS who told you that you require another shot of Td you may as well have that done and have it transcribed into the I-693. This involves completing Part 1, Part 2 (vaccinations only) and Part 5.

In the event you decide NOT to get the I-693 done now (which is what I recommend) you will NOT have your interview denied because you did not have it. You will simply be issued an RFE at the interview and the interview will proceed as normal, and then after you send in the RFE'd document they will approve/deny you. (hopefully approve of course). In the event you get it, the worst that could happen is they didn't need it so you wasted the money on the shots and the cost of the transcription.

I personally would wait until the interview because it is standard practice (have a look at the LOTS of I-693 RFE threads) for the 693 to be requested PRIOR to the interview (so before you get an interview notice) so typically if you get the interview notice and no RFE then it usually means they have accepted your stuff "as is". Like I said, worst case, you get it and waste the money, or you don't get it and need to send it after the interview.

------

Best of luck with your decision.

Thank you for all the reply :)

I told my husband not to get the I-693 but he said it's better to be sure than another delayed :D

So, we went to a CS and she agreed to transcribe my vaccination record, but she said i need 1 more shot for Td because on my DS-3025 it shows incomplete.

Mahalo :)

I answered for the vaccinations prior to the post you're quoting and was not referring to them in that same post as the OP was asking about transcribing the vaccinations versus vaccinations + whole medical. Vaccinations are indeed not tied to the "one year validity" rule of the medical and I never implied they were :)

Ahh, my confusion arose due to your use of this "So if your medical is still valid you do not need a new one. And there is no need to transcribe it as is already in your file." [emphasis added] because if she did in fact get a new medical it wouldn't be "transcribed" it would be a completely new medical. The "transcription" only applies to vaccinations.

Always better to be sure.

hmmm... thats interesting topic. Neither I, didn't get any RFE.and don't have any plan to have another shot.(it was written to my vaccination record too that its "incomplete". anyway it says there "unless it was submitted" I think it was included in the envelop that I was carried and gave to the immigration at the time of my Port of Entry.

Thank you for all the reply :)
