Co-sponsorship is the only way... could be a friend or a family member...

Jen

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Congratulations! What was approved? The I-130 or the I-129F petition? For the IV process (I-130), one can always use a co sponsor. For the K-3 process, one can not use a co sponsor and it wil be up tp the consular officer's discretion to decide the outcome of I-134 (affidavit of supprt for K-3).

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

it was the k3 wich is approved, so you say that k3's cannot get a cosponsor ?;

COngratulations on your K-3 approval. I am not sure about K-3 affidavit of support. I think, one can not have a co sponsor for K-3 process and it will be upto the consular officer's discretion to adjudicate the I-134, affidavit of support. I hope, someone will answer your question clearly. For now, please celebrate your approval.

One can have another sponsor for the K visa. There is only a couple of consulates that appear to not accept a co-sponsor for the K visa. The I-134, unlike the I-864, is not legally binding and when used in conjuction with other documentation, is only so a conof can determine if the applicant will or wont become a public charge.
