Hi everyone!

We have only three weeks to go before I make the big move to New Jersey on my K1 visa. Russ, my fiance, with be travelling over to the UK on 21st May and then we will be travelling back together on 31st.

I have already looked through the POE reviews and can't find many recent ones for Newark anyway but I still have a few questions...

1) If you travelled with your American fiance, did they allow you to queue tgether in the citizens line or were you separated?

2) Which forms do you fill out on the plane (normally I do the green and the customs form obv)

2) When you were directed to Secondary Passport control, were you permitted to go together?

£) And finally how long in your experience were you kept waiting before you could go?

I'm asking all of this because we have to then travel to cargo to collect our beloved labrador (that I will be really worried about by this point). So I just like to know in advance, what others have experienced...

Many thanks!

1. Thats often up to the traffic control person, I came in with my now wife, and we were able to go into the same line.

2. Customs and I-94 for the person with the K-1 visa.

3. Nope no secondary processing.

2) this time the WHITE I-94... Flight crew may try to give you the green one (I-94W) but for you it is the wrong one this time

Waiting time is dependent on how busy the POE is... it took us a good two hours to clear JFK on a late afternoon

My POE was LA 1 week ago, but I want to share my experience:

1) If you travelled with your American fiance, did they allow you to queue tgether in the citizens line or were you separated?

I travelled alone, there were many people, so the officer allowed me to go to the citizens line, to go togheter always will depend of the traffic control person

2) Which forms do you fill out on the plane (normally I do the green and the customs form obv)

the custom declaration and I-94 form

2) When you were directed to Secondary Passport control, were you permitted to go together?

NO second control

£) And finally how long in your experience were you kept waiting before you could go?

I'm asking all of this because we have to then travel to cargo to collect our beloved labrador (that I will be really worried about by this point). So I just like to know in advance, what others have experienced...

it took me about 15 minutes to finally take the luggage

We can all make a difference. Please recycle

I know it's been a couple weeks since you posted this but I just wanted to add some "helpful" 2cents. I just returned from The Gambia on Friday and came in through Newark. I took the opportunity to ask the officer of the procedure when I return with my fiance. He said my fiance could come in the USC line with me with no problem. He also said that they aren't as busy as the other area airports so it's very likely we could be out in less than an hour. As it was, I was in line for all of 15mins from beginning to end. Everything moved very quickly. I was pleasantly surprised.

I hope this helps you a little. Congratulations!!!

Our POE was Atlanta, but I travelled with my fiance as well. The line for american citizens was very big and Im glad we talked to someone before waiting. When the guy heard that Im with K1 visa, he guided us to go to a different office where there was no line. They checked the yellow envelope (about 5 minutes) and then we went to another office where they asked us a couple of questions (were there for about 15 min).

I traveled on the 12th April, and my POE was Denver. But I'll share my experiences anyways.

1) If you travelled with your American fiance, did they allow you to queue tgether in the citizens line or were you separated?

We both queued together.

2) Which forms do you fill out on the plane (normally I do the green and the customs form obv)

It was the white form, if I remembered correctly.

2) When you were directed to Secondary Passport control, were you permitted to go together?

Yes, we were allowed to both go through together. Mind you, it wasn't very busy when we were there and people often make exceptions for us because I am in a wheelchair. I'm not sure if it is usual practice to be allowed through together, but my fiance and I were.

£) And finally how long in your experience were you kept waiting before you could go?

Somewhere around 20 - 40 minutes, I'd say.
