(V) The use of any--

(a) biological agent, chemical agent, or nuclear weapon or device, or

hmmmm. wonder if that also applies to using insecticide on people

I'm making a 'list'.

Quite a BOLD statement. But do YOU actually condemn Hezbollah 'for firing missiles indiscriminately into civilian areas with Israel'? "I don't see a problem with.." is just another way for you to beat around the bush.

What exactly do you want me to say?

That's quite a turn around to someone who appeared, on the surface, at any rate to be rather liberal with regards to free of speech.

I don't see a problem with condemning Hezbollah (and its backers) for firing missiles indiscriminately into civilian areas with Israel,

What exactly do you want me to say?

1. Would it matter what you say? It would translate as "blah blah right blah wrong blah".

2. My love of freedom of speech is second only to my love of sarcasm.

At any USCIS interview if they ask "Do you support terrorism?". Will you say 'yes', 'no', or go off on a lecture about how 'terrorist' is just a label?

so does Israel

Regardless of how you might feel about Israel, Hezbollah is a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO)

under Section 219 of the INA and Israel is not.

I'm not disputing that - I'm saying that the use of the term "terrorist" has become sloganised - which is essentially a way of stifling any wider debate.

The same is true of "Democracy". It has become a short-cut to talk about complex and nuanced issues. However, when delivered by ham-fisted politicians, it becomes one-dimensional, and impossible to argue against. Bush (for instance) has done this repeatedly, with both democracy, freedom and terrorism.

No I don't "support" terrorism. I just don't see the issues as being particularly clear cut.

I don't believe in the school of "your either with us or with the terrorists". Such people have as limited an understanding of terrorism as they do of the democracy they calm to defend.

Too bad. For me, it's not about who's right and who's wrong, it's about which side you're on.

I am not going to take Hezbollah's side no matter what, but you seem to be willing to support

the enemy if you believe they are "morally right".

I don't believe that's what I said. I believe the conflict has roots far beyond the current crisis, and that both Hezbollah and Israel are far from blameless in exacerbating an already volatile situation.

Ultimately this is about competing world views.

I bet if your house was on fire you would tell the fire department that 'fire' was just a label.

It seems to me that there are several people here that think the way CNN wants them too. With that said, its obvious that no one here supports terrorism, there is however a difference in opinion regarding whether Hezballah is a terrorist group. Showing us the USA's definition of what a terrorist group is just shows us that is the USA's opinion on it, there are plently of other countries and people that disagree with this. It's also quite apparent that there is a huge lack of understanding from the people on this board of the situation at hand. It really saddens me that there is no value of arab life to people in the world and people on this board. :(

People want to argue their opinions about Hizballah and Israel and if we come to defend or speak our opinions we are called "mean girls" and "terrorists" and "terror supporters". So basically anyone that disagrees with you gets catogorized there?

Its funny how us "mean girls" continue to post articles and facts to englighten others. No one ever responds to these, instead they are just picked apart and the same comments made over and over.

I'd really like to see if these debates can be more constructive and less emotional. I don't mind hearing peoples points about Isreal, but please absorb some of the information that is posted and stop the attacks. :star:

Only Fox news for me. thanks!

Hezbollah launches rockets into Israel with the sole purpose of killing civilians. Israel does not. That's the difference that you always ignore.

So it's ok to launch rockets with no regard for civilians as long as the intent is to destroy a military target?

The poor ####### who gets caught up in a Hezbollah rocket or IDF bomb probably doesn't give a $hit about that difference. The result is the same.

This is an unfair fight in itself, so how can you even compare the intentions? If Israel intentions are not to kill civilians, they are failing miserably. I'd like to know in your opinion, how could Hizballah fight fair?

it's one thing to "enlighten" as you call it, it's another to continue a full scale propaganda campaign as many seem to be doing.
