Doing drivers lisence in the states?

Can anyone tell me how it works?? I dont have a drivers lisence yet and once i finally have my visa i would like to get it ASAP.

How much do they roughly cost??

Hows does it all work?

Do you have a German DL? (and what state will you be living in?)

(Cost depends on the state you're going to be living in but it won't be anywhere near what it would cost in Germany. Karin's was under $40.)

My drivers license was $4 in VA and the test was super easy and lasted 20mins. You just gather 4 pieces of ID (passport, I767-NOA1 for I485, bank statement and marriage cert) and go in and take the test when you are ready. Oh and you might need to vehicle registration of the car you will be driving.
