costa rican embassy - K-1 Physical - Drug Test ?

hi - i just put in I129F for fiance in costa rica - she is an occasional marijuana smoker - when she takes the physical will they give her a drug test - we have a lot of time to work with, but i would like to hear from people who went through their physical in san jose if possible - this is a great website .... very informative ..

My fiancee just underwent her medical last week in San Jose (our interview is the 18th). No mention was made about a drug screen in the Embassy instructions packet 3, but the Dr. DID ask my fiancee if she had ever used drugs (Vanessa has never done drugs in her life).

You need to be very careful, because if your fiancee is asked at her physical and she denies it and for some reason it comes to light that she lied it will be construed as a material misrepresentation which results in a lifetime ban.

Best advice is to tell your fiancee to stop smoking weed NOW, so her system will be clean by the time she gets to the medical and interview stage.

San Jose is one of the easier Embassies for a K-1 approval unless you give them a reason to deny it.
