Dear VJ,

I have a question in my mind.Is that mandatory in my police certificate to mention my husband's name? Can I use my father's Name instead of my Hubby's name?since my husband is in USA. My police certificate application will be submitted by my father so it will be written on my police certificate like that daughter of.....is that create any problem?or i need to mention like this wife of .......(my husband's name who is my petitioner)

please advise :)

I have no idea how things work in your country, but police certificates are completed on the beneficiary (that is you) - you say that your father will make the application for you. Check the Dept of State website for requirements re the police certificate for your country. In Canada, I'm required to submit the application and provide a signature, no one else can on my behalf as far as I know. That's because only the person requesting the police check on themselves is permitted to submit the application. It gives police the authority (consent) to complete a name check etc. Again that's Canada.

Good luck

police certificates have to be in all names known as. So you will have to get one in maiden and married name. It can be in your maiden name, but it also has to have AKA on there of your married name. I dont know how it will look from your country, but I know the Philippine NBI clearance just lists the name all along with something like "de" in between names to denote a married name and such.

Did you end up with your father's name or your dad's name. If possible, can you do a screenshot of your police certificate. Black out all your details. I need help on this. Does the police certificate expire?

A very very good question. Now even i want to know. I haven't had my wife changed her passport and didnt want to change it until she comes here.

I hope someone can really answer this question. I mean is it worth changing it back home for her and then come here. I mean will changing her name on her passport create issues during NVC stage if we have submitted I130 with her maiden name. I dont want to change anything right now if possible but if i have to, i will let her know.
