On one hand, I respect the Big Boo and his powers of comprehension and logic. But it never seems to go anywhere, like to a logical conclusion or happy place. He just keeps pointing out faults or shortcomings in his opponents arguments, which just leads to more arguing.

BTW, when Australia Banned Guns homicides increased 3+%, assaults increased 8+% and armed robberies increased 44%

I only add this because as much as he toots and touts the great land down under as the perfect place to be, and a model of good gummint, it ain't all that.

Anyways, BTT, Greece is a major basket case, and they need to get out of the cafes and bistros and get their butt to work (more than 2 hours a day), and have their membership in the Euro Union suspended and count their Drachmas again. 'Cause their mess ain't coming to my neighborhood! :hehe:

..... Had the same $1 trillion been actually invested in the US annually, while the $300 billion left on Military, the Midwest and South wouldn't look like a current hillbilly / ghetto version of a third world country. That's not me being offensive or hating, that is reality.

It always amazed me to travel to the South or MidWest America and hear people talk about the Military like it's the same thing as a 9-5 career.

Sometimes BY I wonder how much of the country you have actually visited as opposed to viewed from Youtube. :P

I grew up in NJ not to far from Philly and I can tell you there is way more ghetto looking areas in the North than the south.

Drive through any of the outer areas around any sizable cities and you see mile after mile of Levit style houses with three layers of vinyl siding and green asphalt roofs next door to red or white.

Or you might notice the endless rows of row-houses with the same crappy plastic siding and all the original Cornice work at the eves covered in Aluminum.... they also come complete with a yard in the back the size of my driveway.

One thing NJ does have going for it is; they outlawed Mobile homes decades ago (and thats the reason you only see very old ones).

ONe disadvantage the North has is most of it's housing is much older which lends to decay and disrepair.

I'm stunned you actually think a random drive through the south will bring you to more ghetto areas than say the North-east.

Why do you think so many people have moved here... and left there? (including me)

He uses the information that fits his agenda and then criticizes anyone who does the same. There is no discussion or point/counterpoint with him. He has been proven wrong many times about the gun ban, but he disregards any source that is not his. If he says it, it must be true, even when he makes it up.

I find that he has no logic or comprehension of what he discusses. He's a blowhard that likes to hear himself talk.

My argument has always been that when xyz is internationally recognized (not just opinion) regarding being better at doing something particular, why not learn from them? Yes, like not wasting a large some of their money on military. $300 billion is still close to 4 times more than country in #2 China, more than enough. The rest can be saved; which repubs apparently love or be reinvested back into America. Fix the roads, upgrade dilapidated cities etc etc. Basically, stuff that the rest of us will use and enjoy daily.

This is wrong as it only took into account the following year. Since the gun restriction, the homicide rate has dropped and is actually one of the lowest in the first world.

AUS Murder Rate - per capita

Pre-Gun buyback and restriction

1995 - 1.8

Following gun buyback - given time to work

2008 - 1.2

Basically a 33% reduction, rather than the 3% increase

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I'm confused BY - I thought you said you don't give a #### about world affairs.

He only cares if it puts Australia in a good light or a makes them look important, otherwise he doesn't care. He can't accept the fact that the US plays the number one role in world affairs, hence his I don't give a #### about world affairs statement. But in the case of the homicide rate, he does care since Australia is ahead of the US. Of course, if anyone else here did that he would accuse them of ignoring the facts and seeing the world through rose colored glasses and tell them flat out they were wrong. When he gets called on it he whines like a little girl.

Ah spook, the homicide rate affects all of us and daily. Your logic is the equivalent of saying while my house is burning down around me, I should really stop and think about world peace.

You're a lost cause, an utter moron. You get what you deserve. A typical selfish fool.

Spook, if you actually had a decent post every now and then I might be offended.

My posts expose you for what you are. You don't want to discuss anything. You want to lecture and bore people with your moronic rants.

Yes Spook, your goat.gif posts in so many threads "expose" a lot.

As I have caught you out before, for someone who is apparently living the dream here, you are on here a hell of a lot. Whereas, when I was back home, I can could count on one hand the number of posts I created in any forum.

You also seem to have some sort of ####### with me. Thus, the following me around anytime you see my name. Whereas, I could count on one hand the number of times I have seen your name and posted simply because of it. Surely a Bostonian like yourself gets what I am insinuating here.
