I'm 22 years old and I'm in the united states army stationed in Okinawa,Japan right now. Me and my fiancee have been together since September of 2007, we submitted a visa in May of 2009 and we haven't tried again until now. My fiancee is in the Philippines, and I'm trying to get her visa approved but don't what to do to ensure that it gets approved this time. We think that she got disapproved the first time because we said she had a job. I don't know the validity of this, but i want to ensure that it doesn't happen again :( I want her here really bad we've been waiting for so long, any help would be appreciated.

When your fiancee attended the interview for the first K-1 she should have received a form which stated the reason for denial. You MUST overcome whatever the obstacle was to cause the denial.

I've never heard of a foreign fiancee working causing a visa denial. My fiancee works and we've encountered no problems..

Please try to let us know that the denial form stated from the prior interview.

There is another way a job could have gotten her visa denied. If she was entering the USA on a tourist or B-2 visa and was then working while in the USA, that could result in visa cancellation and refual of entry at the port and denial of a visa on the next attempted application.

All of this has recently been reported by one member of VJ as having happened to them.

She entered the USA twice and worked for a legitimate employer both times. On her third attempted entry into the USA under question by the CBEs, she admitted she was working in the USA.

I'm still trying to figure it out. No she didn't work in a bar or anything like that she's in the Philippines right now and was at the time we did the first visa and we said that she was a restaurant clerk because she works at her mom's restaurant. she says they just denied her the visa, she didn't get any paperwork, and they told her it was because she failed the interview ?? i don't know what that is because i just sent all the paperwork on my end, and sent the money for her to go to manila. I'm so confused and i don't know what to do cause i don't want her to fail again because i don't know if we'll make it through !!

Call DOS and ask them what the exact reason of the previous denial really is.

Next time you apply..Load your application of evidence of an ongoing relationship (photos, emails, snail mail, phone records, instant messages screen shots, etc), BE SURE that every piece of information and every detail on your application is accurate, and get your congressman involved after at the interview stage if things do not go well.

I pray everything works out well for you and your fiancee. Good luck! (F)

are you sure it was a K-1 visa at the US Embassy in Manila ?

Strongly suggest you look into HER getting a tourist visa at the Japanese Embassy , instead, and then once she's with you, marry her in Japan - use yer military status to get her an ID card. There's some other stuff to do afterwards, but I can't remember most of it :(

FWIW, if she did not receive any paperwork at the interview, then it wasn't a K-1 visa.

Getting a visa for a fiancee under SOFA Status in Japan is really hard this days, the embassy won't disclose anything about the denial of your fiancees' visa. I was denied once back in 2007 when i was still the fiancee of my husband,I had a good job back then but still they denied my application. So the only option we gt was him to file for a short leave to come in the Pi (he was scheduled for a deployment that month also)and get married. We gt married so quick, that we even don't know our sponsor. (kinuha lang namin sa mayor's office) hehehe. Good thing that i had a friend who work at the mayor's office and finish all the paperworks(mc) before my husband leaves again back in Oki.

When i gt my marriage certificate and apply for a visa in Japan, it was approve in 2 days and i didn't have any interview at all. If you really want her so badly, then marry her in the PI. 15 days leave would be ok and your wife can follow you 15 days to 1 month later....

Hello what type of visa did you apply for? I'm married to a US citizen and I got approved for my K1 visa however since my spouse is stationed in Atsugi Japan..I went home to PI to apply for the SOFA stamp ..I applied before for a tourist visa in Japan but I got denied since we were not married yet..giveme insights about the japanese visa how did you pass?
