Pinning information

I wanted to provide some information to frequent travelers to Ukraine on my home forum, Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus (RUB). I also would like to update the data periodically. I asked Ewok, and was told to "send it to me, and I will have a look", but no response as to the updating. Is the procedure just to send to Ewok all requests to pin and update?

Ewok is the lord of pinning ( which causes the topic to be at the topic of it's section ) Once pinned the topic behaves like a regular topic

Not necessary.

Once the thread is pinned, anyone can post to it.

Yes, Captain Ewok is the only one who is able to pin/unpin a thread in the forum. You need to send him the information along with the reason why you feel it is a good idea to pin it. Pinning it just keeps it at the top of the list of topics so that it is readily available for those looking for that information.

Thanks Kathryn. Although I realize that it will be a topic any one can post to, I may want to update the OP, as things change in the subject area. I assume the skipper can either append or replace the post with an update to the OP?

Yes, Captain Ewok can amend or edit the original post, if it is necessary. You can also add to the thread yourself, maybe re-copying the relevant material and adding in the updates to the copy then reposting it later in the thread. That way you are not dependent on Captain Ewok for the editing.

Good deal. It just makes more sense to me to update the OP at the top, than make folks search through the thread as it grows for the udpaded original information.
