So once the biometrics are done, does that mean we have to sit around waiting and wondering whats next, has anyone received anything else since their biometrics were done and updated?

Not yet, it shows us being touched on the 3rd which was the day after our biometrics. No emails no texts, just wait and see if something comes up in the next few weeks. Ill keep ya updated.

You went in the day after I did for Biometrics, I wonder if I will have anything in the mail over the next few days. That's great news btw for it to go to CA, well at least that's what I've been reading. Hope all goes well for you :)

Hi Guys,

I was hoping to be one of the May filers but the SSN office seems to be delaying our application. :(

When I got my K1 visa, along with the papers that were not to be opened, there was a letter saying that if I had filled up certain sections of my DS 230 and was 18 years or older, the information would automatically be shared with the SSN office and I wouldnot need to go their office to apply for one. I've tried calling the SSN office but its been of no help. Unfortunately, this is holding up my drivers license, EAD and everything else.

Did everybody here apply for a SS card or did it arrive by itself.

Thanks for the info,

Sowmya

I don't know why they have that box on the form...your social security card will NOT get to you in the mail off a K-1, you have to go to an office and apply even if you checked the box. Looks like you just got here a few weeks ago so you should be good to go - just go in & apply. For Sifa it only took about 10 minutes (he went right when the office opened) and we got the card within the week.

On another note, you don't need a social security number to apply for AOS. So...if you have all the paperwork ready and waiting to go just waiting for SSN just send it :) It will be fine!

Are you a K1 visa holder? Yeah I think you have to apply. Go to the nearest SSN office, you have to fill out an application form. Just bring proof of identification, like you passport and marriage contact.

You DO NOT need SSN to apply AOS. If you have sufficient days (have to give 4-6 weeks at least to SSA if they need verification) on your I-94, they will issue you a SSC. Some don't get SSN until EAD arrive. I have seen that kinda things over VJ threads. So hope this helps.

Almost 2 weeks since my biometrics and I haven't heard anything from USCIS with regards to service centre etc, it's driving me nuts lol.

Anyone else starting go a little crazy over all of this?
