Sorry guys you are going through this

Its hard to trust what comes out of USCIS. I called the other day to find out how to get my husband's *original* K-1 visa application (he needs it for getting his kids here on a join to follow). Anyhoo-the guy told me to use one form (a FOIA request). When I look at the directions to the form it says in bold, 'Do not use this form for requesting *original* documents'. UGH, really USCIS guy, after it took 20 minutes to actually find a way to talk to a human on that line?

Good luck guys. You'll get through it, although it will be one huge pain in the ####!

First off, congrats to all of those who got their greencards!

MalolostoUSA - Grrr! I hope they get their butts in gear! Best hopes that this will soon be behind you.

Katie and Sifa - what a nightmare this is turning out to be! I'm sorry to hear it hasn't been a quick, easy fix like we all hoped. What did you hear back from the private pulmonologist guy?

Things haven't been going smoothly on our end, either:

Got home last night to find a letter from the USCIS (after what was already a pretty awful day). It contained a change of address form and an RFE that had been returned to sender and sent back to us, asking for the FULL MEDICAL!!   And of course, they didn't extend the date, so it's due by Oct. 21st.

I'm so torn because I don't want to pay a zillion more dollars to do another bloody medical which we don't even need. I'm going to get Ewan to call and email the place in Christchurch where he did his medical for the K-1 and see if they can mail us a copy. Thank goodness we still have the DoS vaccination form (we sent one of two originals WITH the GC application, but of course they seem to have lost it).

Of course, there's the confusion that the online system says that the card is in production, so I called the customer service line, and talked to two people. One person said that yes, it was in production, but then she transferred me to someone else who said, "Document production can mean anything that they send to you." #######?! So, we've made an infopass appt, but couldn't get in until Oct. 14, meaning that we only have a week to answer the RFE after if that's what they tell us to do.

SO FRUSTRATED!!

Hi! that_girl,

I feel sorry to you guys, hope they can just simply accept what we filed on, but it seems it depends to OIC handling every one AOS,& how prompt we can response to their RFE letter.

About RFE it must to be submitted what they requested, about Document production,

It happens to me, Document Production 3 times, First document production is AED, then if transfer to CSC another document Production but after received by CSC it back to

Post Decision Activity, then another document Production , that is the time you have to wait for 2 Weeks to receive your Welcome letter in the mail after that your GC will be with in the next seven days, hang on there , your GC is on it's way, but unless they for another RFE if none, expect your GC soon :) Cheer up Guys.

Positive (I guess?) news! The pulmonologist had a cancelation so Sifa's going tomorrow to get that stuff taken care of. Hopefully he can get back to the civil surgeon tomorrow afternoon and we can send everything out Thursday afternoon/Friday morning. I really just want this resolved!

Well he's out of the pulmonologist...he's calling his boss now to see if he can just take the rest of the day off so he can go back to the civil surgeon and make sure everything's cool. I won't feel good about this until the civil surgeon SIGNS EVERYTHING!

Basically they said that based on the chest x-ray he had in April and a sputum test he had done today, he does not have TB (of course.) But she said that she recommends taking the prophylaxis "just in case" for protection. That's ok, I guess, even though I think it's probably unnecessary (the reaction is most likely from the TB vaccine that he got as a kid) but I'll be worried that the CS won't sign it (for whatever reason!) until it's actually signed and back in our hands.

Hopefully we'll be able to return the RFE today and just sit and wait until they resume processing...we really can't wait much longer since it's due back October 26!

Sifa's at the civil surgeon now...he said the pulmonologist only charged him $170 instead of the $450 they originally quoted, so that's a big relief! I'll let you all know how it goes at the CS.

Arabella & Bogartnoir - I hope you both hear something soon...I know the wait is painful! We thought we'd at least be satisfied when we got the EAD (and it HAS been really nice that Sifa's been able to work) but we reaaaaally are anxious for the GC. Hope we all get good news this week :) Maybe the adjudicators will be in a good mood coming back from their day off today!

Ok, everything is signed & ready to go! I'm sending it off today...wish us luck on an approval next week!!

Glad to hear that everything is on its way to being resolved!

We sent a letter in response to the RFE requesting that our files be located from the border control and joined with the GC application (woman at the infopass told us we could try this instead of doing another medical). It will probably take ages to be resolved, but hopefully it will be without us having to do anything else. At least Ewan is working, as has been accepted to graduate school for the spring semester.

Good luck! I hope that resolves it for you...

As for us the package was delivered on Tuesday and still no touch or anything indicating that they have started processing again. If there's still no touch by THIS Tuesday I'm calling...I want to make sure it's back in processing by the 26th, since that's the final day they gave us to have it in!
