Thanks everyone for the welcome...as it turns out hubby didn't get the offer in the end...really devastating, as it went so far. He's really struggling at the moment as its been hard and bureaucratic to get into society here for him. He does have his SSN and just got his temporary driving license (we both thought he'd get the real thing, another disappointment). He left behind a good and prestigious job in Sierra Leone only to be jobless and broke here and can't do much but sit and wait for who knows how long until EAD and a job (which also is difficult at the moment). Its hard also for him to accept me as a breadwinner (I've just got a short term consultancy to pay very good money).

Sorry to get off on a tangent, that's where we are at the moment.

Hope someone getw some good news soon!

Sorry to hear about the job, hopefully there will be others he will like just as much. I just started my search for a job, but nothing to serious right now,as I have a kiddo at home to take care of.

Wow, you had to wait, is your Biometrics office busy all the time, that's crazy, but at least it's done now

I haven't been there before so can't speak to how it normally is. They were pretty busy today though - there were probably 10 to 12 people in front of us and another 7 or 8 came in while we were waiting. Only 2 people taking biometrics, but one had something more complicated going on - she had to keep going back to another office to do something.

I wonder if it's because it's the weekend. Ah well main thing is you guys got it done and can relax about that now.

Yeah sometimes it's really hard to just sit and wait. I have a full time job for 12 years and been used to being so busy, not having much time for myself and been on sleep deprivation due to too much work.. And now I'm not doing anything.. We are on the same Boat, i Am used to work, for full time ,14 years in HK, not really have time to myself when i was there, Work,Work,work, now, to avoid being Bored, I love going Out with my husband any where we like, Watching live Concerts, most of the day here in VJ, Going to mall, even we don't buy something just be out & recieved fresh Air, seen new environment, calling my family in HK & in Philippines, Making myself Busy, treating my house, like ia m working there , that every thing must be in place before Dawn , I love gardening, Baking. Preparing Dinner before my Hubby comes,Chating to ALL my Friends in a Chat room, of Course Our daily Priority Our loves ones,Watching TV Sitcom, Deal or no Deal,ha! ha! ha! so funny , that is what i'm doing right now.

Well I've had absolutely nothing at all. I'm happy for everyone finally seeing movement on their AOS applications and getting word from USCIS.

Really Ineresting, My EAD Approved today, The USCIS E-mail me in my Own E-mail Address, here what it says, .....On July 2, We ordered production of your New Card. Please Allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you, we will Contact you. If you move before you recieved the card, call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283.

This Step Applies to Application that results in an Applicant recieving A Card ( such as green card) or other document( such as naturalization certificate, refugee travel documents or advance parole).Application will be in this step from the order to produce card/document is given until the card document is produced and mailed to the Applicant. you can expect to recieved your card/document within 30 days of the Approval Application.

It is mentioned the Green Card is my Green Card Approved too? or just my EAD?

Great news on the touch Katie...its something, right?

Mel, you are taking advantage of your free time, that's great. I would be the same. Hubby goes up and down, sometimes very positive, other times really bummed out. Some people handle things differently I suppose. He helped me with our huge 100 ft x 100 ft garden and is painting my mom's house which has been taking lots of time. He needs to be busy. He also worries about providing for his kids who are still in SL. But I agree, look at the bigger picture!

Anyway, have a great fourth to all! Govt offices closed Monday? Booo.
