Welcome, Hopeful! :)

We are still waiting to get the text/email saying they have our file. Getting anxious though I know we are still in a normal time frame not to have received it.

Yeah, mine was delivered on Friday and I'm all like "Why wasn't my check cashed yet?! " 'Cause I'm neurotic and impatient....

Does anyone else feel like the theme of the whole immigration process is one step forward, two steps back?

I called Buffalo ACS today, which is the office where the biometrics letter sends us, to ask about a walk-in. I did this because on one of the other threads, there was discussion about how somebody called asking about a walk-in and that appeared to help in their walk-in process.

Anyway, I told the gentleman in the biometrics/fingerprinting office that my other half would be in Buffalo tomorrow and we wondered if he could just walk-in to do his biometrics then. I got a polite but abrupt "No." According to the Buffalo office, ACS offices should not allow a walk-in, because of something about identity theft and windows of availability for matching a biometrics with your file. I told him that I knew of others who had walked in at other centers in the last few weeks. He said that "if that was the case" (like I was making it up because how could I possibly know anyone else doing this same thing... lol), it would not be happening in Buffalo. He told me to either come in at our appointed time or reschedule, because otherwise, it would be a wasted effort on our part.

My fighting spirit says test it and just try to do a walk-in anyway, but my brain is saying we have been at this for 13 months, just wait the week and don't rock the boat.

Hopefully, some of the rest of you have better luck with getting your biometrics done in a walk-in.

Ha, me too. I've been obsessively checking my bank account to see if the check has been cashed & my phone to see if I have a text saying that they have the file :) Maybe tomorrow...

I'm glad I'm not the only one  . You get yours today so that I can expect mine in two days' time (as if the USCIS worked in a way that made sense like that!)

Good luck - hoping they acknowledge us and take our money soon!

Check cashed!! Still no text or email but I just checked & they cashed it sometime yesterday - must have been late afternoon after I stopped checking.

Don't worry too much about the text/email. Unfortunately sometimes they text all at once, and at other times they don't remember to do so. I got 14 emails from them lol Hopefully the hardcopy will come about 4 or 5 days after, check my timeline and you'll get a time frame

Yeah I'm not overly concerned about it. Just think it's funny how some people have check cashed with no other sign that it's been accepted and some get like 20 emails/texts from USCIS and the money is still in their account.

After receiving our NOA1 in the mail last week, we finally got a biometrics appointment letter on Monday, May 17. But the appointment isn't until June 7! So I'm definitely jealous of the May biometrics appointment. ;)
