Kjme138,

There wasn't an interview of sorts, we were sent to his office because I guess the clerks (they were contract workers not actually employed by USCIS) could not verify or move us on until her maiden name could be cross-checked because her passport has her maiden name and letter has her married name. So were sent to him, we had our original certified copy of our marriage license, he initially signed the forms to continue the process at the time talking to us about her relationship to me. His discussion with her was actually right on, it was a conversation that you would have say with someone over coffee. Kind of finding out about another person, he shared personal (not real deep stuff like he was divorced, kids etc.) stuff with us. My wife is kind of open to knowing other people and in her mind what's the problem with that he is nice. I think she truly saw an opportunity for us to have a friend but I like you are a little wary. When we left he actually came out to say good by and that is when my wife asked for his phone number. She texted him yesterday and he replied back. I'm uncomfortable with the situation so I told her to let it cool off and not contact him right now. she thinks that he would be a good friend for me and she truly wants to set up her girlfriend in Poland with him somehow. She wants us to meet him for coffee but right now I'm against it, I'm not really suspicious of him or her but just wary.

As I said I work for the local goverment and I know it was inapporpriate but I know I have has similar situations occurred when the object of our discussion digressed and was more personal than business.

Let me know what you guys think?

Bernie

Yes, it was the ASC service center in South El Monte, it's him. Did you have any contact with him? If so what happened?

Bernie

Hi! Bernie,

Ok! She's been questioned because of her Maiden name was in her passport and the letter notice was under her Married name,

that's the reason needs clarification that end up to Mr. William, who is incharged or has a right of doing it before finger printing and picture taken be done? right? which is nothing wrong, but having a personal Conversation , which implies your wife is the one Ask his phone number, Because She is friendly, open minded, for her is nothing wrong, OOOOOOOOOOOOpppps, Wait,!, Did she told you that she will ask his phone number before hand? You are her husband, if she did, and you said ok ,that's fine, but take note, if there is a person must to get connected with him, in RESPECT of Values of Marriage ,you should be the One, even if it is about the case status, You know , Man to Man conversation which will lead to his and his wives, and maybe the guy really has someone to fix it up with him ,with her same country,? , ok My- co may 2010 Filers, what would you think?, It is only my comment, Good luck to OUR AOS journey.

Hi,

We had our biometrics on Tuesday, the appointment was for 2 PM but we went in at 8:30 AM filled out some paperwork which was reviewed. We didn't have any documents except her social security card so they sent us to talk to the office UCSIS officer. His name was Mr. Williams and he talked to us for about an hour or should I say he talked to my wife.....we are a mixed couple she's white (pretty of course), and me black and the officer was black too and divorced (maybe he was interested?). He had alot of advice to giver to her which was good advice and she listen...sometimes. I just wanted to get through the system and get everything done. She told him about one of her girlfriends that she could maybe fix him up with. She eventually got his telephone number and she wants to call and get in touch with him. I suggested against this not because of what might happen to her file but for him. I'm also a goverment worker and the conversation was too personal and he probably shouldn't have given her his personal number. I told her that it wouldn't look good for him and it could get him into trouble. After he finished talking to her we finished fairly quickly. What do you think? Should I let her call him and touch base of just leave it alone. Her only desire is to let him know how nice it was to meet him and see if he is interested in meeting her girlfriend. There you have it, I bet there aren't other experences like that one.

Bernie

Bernie, here is my take on the situation and take it for what you will.

I wonder if he is testing your wife to see if she is trafficking brides and/or promoting overseas marriages for the purpose of immigration only. You and your wife may need to be very careful with this situation, seriously it could be a trick.

Just my thoughts though.

Beth

Had biometrics on 6/16. No problems, took all of ten minutes.

We were a bit delayed because they "had to bring someone in shackles down from lockup" and he "had to clear the room before that can happen"

The webpage updated both EAD and AOS apps yesterday, but still on intial review

I tend to agree with this. I honestly wouldn't contact him at all - this could seriously be a test of some sort. Even if he is just a nice guy looking for a date....this is not the appropriate venue! And it could be something that would negatively affect your AOS so I'd avoid contacting him.

Hi! Bernie,

I do agree to what Katie & Sifa Comment about your matter, Biometrics is done, you and your wife must do now , is , like what we are doing, Waiting to the Next Step, A Notice that if Our case has been Transfered or Approved, there is no way we saw and heard about personal attachment to make your paper works done, Yes it could be a TEST. So Beware.

Good luck and God Bless.

Hi Iamtan

I was looking at your timeline and was interested to know something please, I see you got a INFOPASS appointment (Expedite EAD), can you tell me how you did this and why , was it to get the EAD faster after RFE, as I have received a RFE , my kids are going to re-do medicals as it looks like they have been lost. And this is now going to make things take longer , we have our first Biometrics appt this week as well , but can I get a expedite on EAD after next Biometrics appt ? Thanks for help !!

Congratulations! I wish you all the best!!!

Congrats on all the interviews... hopefully that means we are all within/about a month of good news!!! Here's crossing my fingers that we see movement on the EAD soon.

Wiz: I wondered the same about lamtan until I looked at the timeline closer. The original visa was an H1-B, which is a work visa. According to the history, the work visa was set to expire on June 17, 2010, so my guess is that the INFOPASS appointment was to expedite the EAD so that the work that lamtan already has could continue uninterrupted after the expiration of the H1-B. I know of someone who was in a similar situation, and USCIS expedited the EAD for them but it's not a common occurrence. If I am incorrect, I hope lamtan will correct me.

May 7, 2009 - 129F submitted

April 6, 2010 - Visa Delivered/POE (Peace Bridge)

April 23, 2010 - Civil Ceremony

May 1, 2010 - AOS/EAD Application submitted

July 12, 2010 - EAD Approved (Card Production Email #1 at 4:02 pm)

July 26, 2010 - EAD RECEIVED

August 5, 2010 - GREEN CARD APPROVED!!

August 21, 2010 - Green card arrives

November 13, 2010 - Catholic ceremony

July 2, 2012 - ROC submitted to VSC

August 21, 2012 - Biometrics

February 27, 2013 - ROC Approved

Only one more step to go!

Hi JMD , thanks for that info , that makes sense , think you can tell I am getting a bit impatient :) This RFE was totally out of the blue for my kids , when they already have had medicals done in our country before we entered USA and a surgeon did the I-693's here which we submitted with AOS and EAD application , so now we taking them for medicals again and paying more money !! But Biometrics is this Friday so I hope they have received that info by then and can somehow speed this up. Good luck with your journey :)
