Yes, we got the text at 1 am today, haha. Kind of strange!

We have decided not to do a walk in for biometrics - I'm pretty backed up at work, and July 2 gives my boss plenty of notice about needing to take the afternoon off.

Our case was transferred to CSC in May...never got a text, email or anything saying case had been resumed. Should I be concerned about this? I never signed up for the updates on the web page, as I would almost never have time to check it. I did sign up for text updates.. and got 6 of those the day our case was accepted.. but never got another one.

02/23/08 - Met in Turkey

I never received anything from them neither.

I don't think it's a big deal unless you really need to know every update

I wouldn't worry Jenn. We got a text the day that they transferred it and another one when it was accepted at CSC, but if you didn't get one regarding the transfer I'm sure they just don't have you signed up for texts anymore or something. I wish I had a better explanation but...it's USCIS, so who knows. I'm sure it's fine :)

Its very unreliable. I got an RFE in the mail out of nowhere without any update from USCIS website.

So do we all agree the USCIS notification website and system isn't the best hahaha.

Hope everyone has had a great day :)

I forgot to include my wife's W-2 tax statement for Year 2009. Thats what caused the RFE.

Hi,

We had our biometrics on Tuesday, the appointment was for 2 PM but we went in at 8:30 AM filled out some paperwork which was reviewed. We didn't have any documents except her social security card so they sent us to talk to the office UCSIS officer. His name was Mr. Williams and he talked to us for about an hour or should I say he talked to my wife.....we are a mixed couple she's white (pretty of course), and me black and the officer was black too and divorced (maybe he was interested?). He had alot of advice to giver to her which was good advice and she listen...sometimes. I just wanted to get through the system and get everything done. She told him about one of her girlfriends that she could maybe fix him up with. She eventually got his telephone number and she wants to call and get in touch with him. I suggested against this not because of what might happen to her file but for him. I'm also a goverment worker and the conversation was too personal and he probably shouldn't have given her his personal number. I told her that it wouldn't look good for him and it could get him into trouble. After he finished talking to her we finished fairly quickly. What do you think? Should I let her call him and touch base of just leave it alone. Her only desire is to let him know how nice it was to meet him and see if he is interested in meeting her girlfriend. There you have it, I bet there aren't other experences like that one.

Hi! Bernie,

Of Course That was inappropriate, You"ve just done your Biometrics early of the time Scheduled, but doing Biometrics ,Doesn't need Interview , It Is absolutely Only Picture taken and Finger printing, as you mentioned your wife is a kind of Pretty, Beware, If were with you, i won't allow my wife to call him, just for security though, but if you Trust your wife and you know why She is calling him, if it just a matter of paper works, which i can't really see the thread to make Started, Why? what was the reason Behind ? this is just a comment of mine, it is up to you to decide on,like everyone says, It's a Hints. Good Luck on your journey and to all Of Us May 2010 Filers.

K

Kjme138,

There wasn't an interview of sorts, we were sent to his office because I guess the clerks (they were contract workers not actually employed by USCIS) could not verify or move us on until her maiden name could be cross-checked because her passport has her maiden name and letter has her married name. So were sent to him, we had our original certified copy of our marriage license, he initially signed the forms to continue the process at the time talking to us about her relationship to me. His discussion with her was actually right on, it was a conversation that you would have say with someone over coffee. Kind of finding out about another person, he shared personal (not real deep stuff like he was divorced, kids etc.) stuff with us. My wife is kind of open to knowing other people and in her mind what's the problem with that he is nice. I think she truly saw an opportunity for us to have a friend but I like you are a little wary. When we left he actually came out to say good by and that is when my wife asked for his phone number. She texted him yesterday and he replied back. I'm uncomfortable with the situation so I told her to let it cool off and not contact him right now. she thinks that he would be a good friend for me and she truly wants to set up her girlfriend in Poland with him somehow. She wants us to meet him for coffee but right now I'm against it, I'm not really suspicious of him or her but just wary.

As I said I work for the local goverment and I know it was inapporpriate but I know I have has similar situations occurred when the object of our discussion digressed and was more personal than business.

Let me know what you guys think?

Bernie

Yes, it was the ASC service center in South El Monte, it's him. Did you have any contact with him? If so what happened?
