I hope I'm posting in the right topic area.

My bathroom sink (stand alone wall sink) came to a screeching halt when it fell from the wall causing damage to the pipe from the wall (not the trap). I called the plumber and he told me rather than just put the old sink back up i would do better with a vanity and countertop. The plumber also said that if i were to just to put the old sink back up it may not hold as there may not be any wood behind the tile wall and to find out if there were he would have to put a hole in my bathroom to locate it. So Saturday my hubby and I went out looking at the surplus stores and he didnt like the vanity and counter top he liked the pedestal sink as for me I liked the idea of a countertop. The countertop/vanity(110 and up) is a bit more expensive but the pedestal sink (45 and up)cost less.

I know one of the reasons my hubby likes the pedestal sink is because he says it looks like the one he had back home in Egypt. I am sure it would make him feel better to have some reminsce of his parents home at the same time I want to make our first home beautiful. Sorry for the rambling and run on sentences but im half sleepy.

OOPs I meant to post this in OFF topic .....I apologize.

Can someone move this to off topic

I personally prefer pedestal sinks. I think they look nicer. They also usually have a larger basin and since there is no counterspace, you keep the area cleaner. They also create the feel of the bathroom being larger.
