There has to be something that we can do to get them motivated. There is no reason for them to be dragging their feet and delaying interviews. I dont understand. Does anyone have an idea or should we all just put a petition together and send all our Senators a copy of it. Or do we have to higher. Any suggestions? I, and like alot of others, feel that 6 months is too long of a wait for an interview. Its great to have one, but 6 MONTHS . They are not Gods and they can't be that far back in petitions. We have to do something!

i wish i knew what could get them motivated to speed things up a bit. But i think contacting the senators, could be the only idea that i think would work. 6 months wait is a little long but.....i guess "it is what it is". we just have to wait and keep praying things speed up. but you're right thou. they can't be that backed up since the election (that was almost 6 months ago). they just use that as an excuse to be lazy.!

You are 100% POSITIVE on this. We need to do s'thing about this situation. We still do not have our interview date yet though our NVC left 3rd April. I wonder when our date will be. 3 to 4 months is manageable but 6 months is unbearable people.

But the question is what is the best way out? Are we only limited to Congressmen? how far can they go? how best can we present our case for them to take action? People, lets put our heads together and lets work this out.

By the way, how does the Ghana consulate notify people to go for their packet 3 & 4.. is it thru email or thru the post office?

What are your thoughts people...?

In God We Trust..!

I contacted both Senators of my state ( Florida) on May 27th. Letting them know what the case is at the Embassy of Accra. Due to the holidays, I know it will take some time for them to get back to me. I am hoping that I hear something before I leave for Ghana. Not sure how many of you had done the same. Good luck to us all. May the Lord bless us all in our interviewing journey.

What evidence leads you to believe the delays are for any other reason than lack of staff as compared to the demand for visas? Budgeting for more staff is not under the control of US Consulate officials in Ghana. Budget comes from DC.

I have been tp the Embassy in Ghana. From what I saw, they were not under staffed. Since its been a year, I could nt really tell you if things has changed that drastically. Thats why I had to contact my senators to find out what is going on. It never hurts to find out why its taking 6-8 months for interviews.

No, it won't hurt to ask a question but your opening post evidently assumes they are "dragging their feet". I expect the answer you'll get is that they have more people to interview than they have staff to handle and this produces a backlog.
