The story released in the Russian media seems to be that they disabled the motor and took the navigation equipment before releasing them in the boat, several hundred miles from land.

That kind of puts a different spin on it.

As Putin said, they were dealt with like our ancestors dealt with pirates. Radar confirmed that the pirates didn't make land:

Actually, radar did not confirm anything, only that contact was lost a few hours after release... maybe because of the 3 sticks of dynamite secured to the side of the boat???

Not sure yet. I've got a few years to decide. By the time my daughter attracts boys, I'll be sure to have one. You know, to set the proper tone with the guys. There's nothing like having that initial discussion on what is and what isn't acceptable while cleaning a piece.
