If not formal uniform, I would expect that there are dress codes.

Of course there are dress codes in the schools. But I don't see how any student in Germany would be sent home for wearing a t-shirt with a German flag on it. Much less if other students were present and allowed to stay wearing shirts with Turkish flags

We like to do things upside down in America. When new immigrants enter at JFK, the sign should read Welcome to Bizarro World.

I guess it depends on whether or not there is any tension between ethnic groups in Germany and whether the wearing of those clothes is likely to trigger some sort of incident.

I'm sorry but when the display of the nation's flag in this nation's schools is considered "potentially offensive" then something has gone terribly wrong. And the solution most certainly cannot be to disallow the display our flag but tolerate the display of the flag of a neighboring country. That's fcuked up on so many levels.

If there is a real potential for violence within that school over students wearing competing nationalist imagery, then clearly the school needs to implement appropriate rules to remove the possibility of that situation arising again in the future.

My belief is that students in high schools shouldn't be allowed to create this kind of situation, and the idea of a First Amendment lawsuit taking place as a result is insane. What a silly waste of everyone's time!

So once again we will inevitably have to ban everything so the few are not offended. This is exactly the problem I have with people entering another nation and not caring less to integrate. Furthermore, expecting the country to change to suit their needs.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

That's not the point. What I find inexcusable is to send kids wearing shirts with our nation's flag home while tolerating kids wearing flags of a neighboring country. There's no justification for that. Nor is there any justification for the display of our flag on our soil to raise any potential for violence. If there are indeed kids in our schools that are offended by our nation's flag, then perhaps they ought to go to schools on different soils where our flag isn't displayed.

Not the country, only the school.

Either there is a problem that needs to be addressed there or there isn't.

There isn't much more to it than that.
