Hey Folks,

I am so much surprised with I-130 APPROVAL which was filed based on PR. How can a person gets an approval in just 1.5 years from the time it filed. Based on PR the time wait for I-130 approval is quite longer, isn't it ?

My brother-in-law a PERMENANT RESIDENT of US since 2005-March, has filed I-130 for his wife in NOV-2008. Brother-in-law is FIJI CITIZEN. His wife is INDIAN CITIZEN. How did I-130 get approved so early or USCIS has done any mistake? I am bit confused as well as shocked that isn't I-130 takes 3-4 years wait to get approved IF FILED BASED ON PERMENNANT RESIDENT.

Now another question is, DOES USCIS looks at the country of nationality of PETITIONER OR BENEFICIARY ?

Petition approval is not a visa. The approved petition will go to the National Visa Center and wait for a visa number to become available based on the priority date and country from which the beneficiary will immigrate.
