ive never had to book a flight for someone that is not here. my fiancee got approved at USEM yesturday so now need to look at travel arraingement. would the best way to do be to book her flight online or through my local travel agent then email her the itinerary? i assume this would be fine since everything is ticketless these days.

If you are planning to pay by credit card it would probably be best to go through a travel agent if you SO is flying alone. To my best knowledge, due to security threats the owner of the Credit Card needs to be flying with the other person in order for you to pay for her flight. If you are sending her money or you have a joint account then it will be no problem. I am planning to fly to the Philippines to bring my wife and son back so I can pay online for their tickets because I will be with them.

There could be other methods to pay that I am not aware of. Maybe another member can advise.

I used onetravel.com and they did the credit card verification with me so Mhay wont need the card to get the actual ticket/boarding pass. It is best if you can use a travel agent or send money to you SO.

I used Expedia. I got her a PAL one way ticket from Cebu to LAX for $944 on Expedia. Same ticket was $1,350 on PAL's website. I've used Expedia for 10+ years to fly all over the USA and the world. Never had a booking problem. But you should always check the direct airline website before buying tickets, sometimes they have specials on the airline specific websites and sometimes...just make sure you check different sources before plunking money down..rates are a turkey shoot in that business...they change every minute. Good Luck!!

It's never a good idea to book the flight until the visa is in her hands. I know that you've been waiting forever already...a lot of us have been through this already. But trust me, you wouldn't want to spend 1000+ dollars on a nonrefundable ticket and have some sort of problem with the visa. Sometimes the visa arrives in a few days and sometimes a couple weeks. It's just wise to make sure she has the visa in hand and check for possible errors on the visa and make sure the packet you hand to the POE is not opened. Your patience will pay off ! =)

Check the prices on China Air's website. I'll be flying my wife here with them next month. You can call their customer service to verify but if she has a photocopy of your credit card that you make the purchase with, she can check in with that to get her boarding passes. Good luck :)

Let your fiancée book her flight through her local travel agent. That's the easiest.
