I guess first come, first served doesn't apply in immigration. And who can blame it, the process is long and hundreds of thousands of people apply each month. Each file has to be reviewed by a person. I wish many of the tasks of the process could be automated. And I wish all the forms could be filed at the same time. Like I130, G325A, DS320, DS3020, etc. Do it all at the same time and online rather than print 'n' mail process. It would save at least data entry time.

In looking at past timelines, it does seem as though USCIS has a big slowdown in May and June to process the temporary work visas (students and others coming to the USA to work for the summer) and they pull off some of the people working on family petitions to concentrate on these visas... We got caught up in the delay last year (we submitted April 21) and did not get a touch or approval until late August.... USCIS has a small window that they must approve or deny the work visas so depending on the volume they seem to allocate the resources accordingly...

Hopefully they will keep a good number of people working on the family petitions so there is not such a back up... Hang in there everyone...

Aren't the USCIS casefile #s some sequential thing?

If that's indeed the case, maybe you guys should start comparing casefile numbers - but be warned -

that's YOUR casefile # - you prolly don't want to post it here on the forum, for all to see.

Hey Darnell....pushbrk is correct...but.................................

for all of us that bite our fingernails to the bone....have nothing better to do than worry...here is what I did..with a degree of imagined  success!!!!!

I went to the USCIS My Case Status page and entered my case number to see if any progress....

Then I changed the case number (last 5 numbers) to see what stage they are at.

Then I changed the date range (middle 3 numbers) of the case...to see stage they are at (only moved date range backwards).

I had to test approx 400-500 numbers each date to get a good overview for my guessing calculations

When I reached 2 earlier dates with a fair majority (of my test cases) showing "Post Decision Activity".......

I determined (guessed) my calculations gave me an approximate timeline....and it proved out!!!!

Our NOA2 came within 3 days of my calculations!!!!!

Now I'll probably have UCSIS on my butt because everyone will overload the system checking my hypothesis

Hi Garysworld

You and I have the same marriage date. Except I will be sending in the 130 this weekend, was waiting for my oath. Since the marriage has been short and we have been living in different countries, I am trying to collect all I can to send. This is what I have so far - tell me what comments or advise you may have.

Phone records,

Honey moon pictures

Wedding pictures

Bank transfers records, from my account to spouse's bank.

notarized letter from parents who attended the wedding and from brother.

marriage certificate.

Letter from work showing her as the sole beneficiary for my 401k etc.

anything else I can add that you can think of ? We don't have any join leases, or joint bank account.

Also any tips you may have to shorten the NVC process once it gets to it. Based on your algorithm, if I were to send it in May 15th, how soon do you think I can expect an approval from VSC.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I would skip the bank transfers because they are one way only, no co-mingled and skip the affidavits from people who only observed a ceremony and maybe a party. For newlywed,s photos and marriage certificate are enough. The beneficiary designation is good. You could also show some examples of how and how often and how often you've communicated. Those will mean far more than affidavits.

I'd add - any 'trip' records -

--airline stubs

--payment receipts on air ticket, hotel

and

Payable on Death Instructions from your SOLE bank accounts - you can change this at your local bank, bring in your marriage certificate and copy of her passport bio page, to SHOW the clerk (they'll need her passport # and name to record for the POD instructions). Usually, this is a 1 page addendum, printed by the bank clerk from the bank computer.

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Great Advise guys. Thanks.

I will add letters from may be a friend who has knows about our ongoing relationship prior to the marriage and who attended the wedding.

I will add hotel receipt of our stays together (which is limited, honey moon and wedding days ).

Will do the bank letter.

I was advised to send her my ATM card so that she can use it there - which I did not do. But the bank tansfer is very descriptive, it shows the frequency, amount her name and address and reason.

It wil be going to VSC, I hear they are slowing down quite a bit. On this forum I see CSC getting processed much faster.

definitely airline stubs...copy of passport stamps...and SIGNED receipts with clear dates/locations...

We did use affidavits (5) of influential people (on letterheads & notarized)...did it help....I do not know...but it didn't hurt!!!

We used moneygram (yah I know expensive!)...it gives her name and address and my name and address...did it help...I don't know on this either....but it didn't hurt!!!

Bear in mind that until that visa is in hand (Yours isn't yet) that you don't know what helped or hurt. Getting petition approved in a visa case for newlyweds requires nothing but the marriage certificate in terms of evidence of bona fides. One-way money transfers and even lame affidavits from people who know little of anything about your relationship except for attending a ceremony or party actually can hurt at interview time. That you jumped through the hoops to actually marry in the PI is stronger evidence than either of those anyway.

If you have verified evidence of this please share with us!

We are all looking for verified proof of what helps and what does not!

BTW, I am glad you think you are so knowledgeable about the people that wrote our affidavits!
