You are offensive to me and I assume to the other people that are responding to you. Earlier you stated that you would have come on an investor visa, but the US is not worth investing in. It's the general attitude you have been using in your posts. You, sir, have a lot of growing up to do. Marriage will be good for you. Good luck.

He said nothing like that! That was meant as a joke! And clearly he is not offensive to everyone in this thread, there have been plenty of other people who have tried to listen to what we both have to say.

Fine, forget it.

Do you have a Shaws near you? Or one of those private British shops? That's where we get our tea from (even though it's $5 for 40) because the US version is quite weak. If not, try using 2 teabags per cup. I have great sympathy for anyone that can't find English tea, I don't think I could cope.

May I brag about my duvet, Ms Julez? I picked it up at John Lewis before we left London. It's 2.5 tog, perfect for SoCal, and is filled with Siberian goose down. It is teh duvet of my dreamz.luv.gif

The lack of an electric tea kettle isn't exactly the problem. I found some Tetley tea bags in my local store. Tetley tea isn't my favourite, I admit, but I excitedly thought they would do the job until my next consignment of Yorkshire Tea gets sent over by my forgetful mother. The English varieties of tea they sell here are not the same at all. I know water has a huge impact on the taste of tea, but my Yorkshire tea was at least palatable. All I want is a nice cup of tea!

We had a little English place here that would serve only tea and pastries. I think it's closed now though. :( Maybe next time we are visiting a big city we will find somewhere that serves decent tea.

Our VisaJourney started July 2009 when I mailed the 129-F

Fiance here February 2010, married 10 days later

GC received in the mail 10-Jun-2010

Able to apply to remove conditions 12-Feb-2012

And why is tea so expensive...is it a patriotic duty to make tea as unappealing as possible?

We get Lipton tea, not ny favourite admittedly, from Costco, who also have the biggest bottles you've ever seen of Lea & Perrin's Worcestershire Sauce - absolutely fantastic

Just popped open a 240-bag box of PG Tips. Soooooo happy. :D Yo Mz bakofoil -- when am I coming up to see you, huh? I have gas in the tank...

And a propos Julian -- if it doesn't work out with Melissa, give me a call, okay? I could do with some pampering, and I have a feeling I'm probably lower maintenance than Melissa. ;)

KIDDING!!!

Look out for the Lea & Perrin in this country -- it has HFCS. Not the same thing at all. crying.gif

Can't drink Lipton -- bleccch. I can only handle Tetley British blend.

I'll give it some thought. Can you follow instructions?

Funny, your humour detector was totally off when I suggested the investor visa as a resolution to your little 'issue' the other day.

Noooo don't say that!! But I checked (when I was there, obviously I'm in the UK now) but it was made in England, where HFCS isn't completely banned but so tightly regulated it's not an issue - yet.

Yeah, Lipton ain't great but I refuse to pay $5 for a small packet of Twinings...when I finally return after getting my visa I'll have to start looking for places to get my fixes...like Rich Tea biscuits, and Cheddars, and Cadbury's...mmmmmm

I'll fight ya for him, Gemmie -- and I fight dirty. ;)

No, in the Worcester sauce. So sick of all this adulterated cr@p. I had a massive allergic reaction to tomatoes on Tuesday night -- for the first time in my life. Admittedly, I kind of went overboard in the tomato department, eating about 5 Roma tomatoes because they were on sale and so tasty. My mother, who also has a tomato allergy, says it is a reaction to the pesticides on the tomatoes interacting with the enzymes within the tomatoes I reacted to. So I'm on the all-bland, all-the-time diet for a week, and when I start eating food again it's organic only when it comes to veg from now on. F^ckers!mad.gif

Me thirds! You can send me to the Merc dealership anytime with as much instruction as you like. Oh, and send me some tea.

Really only when they're in line with my master plan to rule the universe. However, if there were massive wads of cash being passed, or indeed fine jewelry or sports cars, I might be persuaded to follow instructions, and then curse you bitterly in private, as I shook impotently at the bars of my gilded cage.

I talked to Julian about it and he said I was being silly, and that I shouldn't listen to what strangers say on the internet when I know him better than to think that.

Yes, you will do well to keep in mind what Julian says!
