Filing Adjustment of Status, Need Help

Hi VJ Peeps!

We are planning to apply for AOS within the next couple of months, and I have been trying to search for an answer to my question about naming convention.

Say for example, my current married name is Jennifer Jane Mendoza Jones.

Where:

- Jennifer Jane is considered my first name (in the Philippines)

- Mendoza refers to my father's family name/ my maiden name

- Jones refers to my husband's family name

Note: I already have an approved EAD and a SSN in American format: Jennifer Jones On my EAD and SSN application, I filled up the forms using the following format: First Name: Jennifer, Middle Name: Jane, Family Name: Jones

But when we first applied for I-130 and I-129F (my daughter Pippo and I were K3/K4 applicants before the category was dissolved), on my forms we used the Philippine naming convention, First Name: Jennifer Jane, Middle Name: Mendoza, Family Name: Jones.

Which naming convention should we use on my I-485 and G-325A?

The American naming convention (First Name: Jennifer, Middle Name: Jane, Family Name: Jones), or

the Philippine naming convention (First Name: Jennifer Jane, Middle Name: Mendoza, Family Name: Jones)?

Your responses would be so helpful. Would hate to get any RFEs at this stage in the process...or worse any kind of hiccup when we eventually apply for naturalization.

Thanks!

In my opinion I would use the same way as you did in your petitions for the I-129. If you change now for the I-489 AOS it may be flagged and cause a RFE. I am not an exopert and we did not have any problem. We used the Philippine way for both the petition and AOS and had no problems but my wife did not have an additional middle name. She had her first name and her middle name was her mothers maiden family name and her family name for her last name of her fathers family name. When we got married she just changed her middle name to her fathers family name and her last name to my family name. The forms as if there was ever any other names used and there you put her name as it was prior to your marriage.

Mine I used and follow the Philippine Way.For example my maiden name before was Dawn D. Agustin. Now that I'm married: I'm using Dawn Agustin Smith.

My SSN,EAD,Greencard, bank account, driver license and etc., all of them appears Dawn Agustin Smith.

Hope it helps kahit late na response ko :)
