Greetings to all…

Well just a quick recap…our case completed at NVC in October 2009. In March of 2010 we sent an expedite request; it was finally answered and granted…husband’s file reached Ghana in April 2010. They gave him his packet this morning….NOW can someone tell me why his interview date is scheduled for October 19th, 2010???????????? :o:blink:

That is outrageous to me. :help: I am sitting here thinking is this expedited? :help: I am sitting here thinking that if I was still in NVC would that mean that our interview would be years away. :crying: I want to be happy I really, really do. Having a date puts a goal in mind BUT 4 months and 14 days away from now :wow: …I am confused and sad. :crying: There must be a mistake somewhere…I am not even sure if there is anything that I can do or who I can contact…. :help::help:

I am just a skittle bag full of conflicting emotions. Please don’t think that I am ungrateful it's just that the timing just does not make sense… :hehe::blink::(:o

Any thought(s) are welcomed...

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us...

Ghana, from all accouts, is severely backlogged so while I understand it is a long way off, you're still amongst the lucky one who has an interview date. It is kind of preposterous though. I'd be pretty pissed about it.

October 14 is an expedited interview date? REALLY?

hey Mantana,

I perfectly understand what you're saying. I don't honestly think that was expedited. but sweetheart, you have to look at the BIGGER PICTURE HERE ( you got an interview date). And "Everything in Life Happens For A Reason" so don't even bother yourself ok?. just Keep PRAYING and PREPARING for your interview. October seems far from now, but it's just a few months away, it will be here before you even know it.so pls take heart and CONSIDER YOUR VISA JOURNEY COMING TO A SUCCESSFUL END. GOOD LUCK.!

Matana, i feel your pain..all the talk about backlog and all the highspeed ####### is just excuses.

I've seen people get their case down there in March and get an April interview date..

My point here is this, Im in the same situation ..my case got approved in late Feb, got to Ghana in mid march and ws emailed to come pick up the packet in late april..and guess what, i got a late october date just like you...

Worst part of it was my fiance was gainfully employed in London,UK..left her job to Ghana and now has to sit around for six months

The only bright spot is she gets to spent time with family but thats a bit overrated if you doin it for 6 months. the next step now for us is we've contacted our congressman to appeal on our behalf for a reschedule date and being that im military im hoping there is a card there i can play but so far nothing yet.

Its a sad case of total ineffectiveness, but like i was telling someone on here the other day, i dont blame them, the culture down there has made them some sort of demigods.

We all need to work together at this point especially those awaiting approval and interview dates and come up with a way around this because there are other embassies in the region who arent as clueless as these guys.

All the best and will keep you guys in our prayers..we love you and stay strong cuz at this point thats all we can do and play the waiting game..urrrhhhgggghhhhh!!!!!!!!

Even though I don't have my date yet. With what happen to Mantray i am guessing mine will be end of year if not early next year. once I have my date i will be doing the same thing and contacting my congressmen. It is unacceptable! 3 or 4 months maybe. BUT 6 MONTHS is not cool at all!!!

Best of luck!! Cause we are feeling your pain too.

I can definitely relate to all of you. I have noticed that the petitions coming from CSC is getting interviews in one month. I dont understand why the petitions from VSC is taking longer. I am so ready to contact the Congress and let them know what is going on. I just dont understand the delay from different service centers. Has anyone else noticed the difference? Now noticing that some of you are from CSC, I really feel like an idiot :bonk: When i was looking at the timeline, i noticed that some were getting interviews in 30 days. Maybe its me but something is off. Maybe we should start a petition.

I want to thank each and every person for your words of comfort and for sharing your experierences with me. It is still a little sad but at the same time it is comforting to know that I am/was not alone. Right now I am just planning to go to Ghana and that is my focus right now. I was telling my husband that I didn't want to sound ungrateful to my VJ Family who are in the thick of things just like me and some still dont have a date. I want to formally apologize for my reaction and display of being ungrateful to all of those who dont even have a date yet. It was shock, disbelief, hurt and confusion that was speaking up. Thank you again to everyone. I will be researching a few things about the embassy and procedures that the embassy follows and truly why Ghana is so "backlogged"...and if there's not a different consular who interviews for certain visas then why are CR1 schedule at its current rate (I think 1 per month). Whatever I find please know that I will share the information.

Love you VJ Fam!!!
