Thanks Jen & Geert...My immediate family is all here. Thank God for that. It was indeed a long process for my sister.

Will definately post any updates on VJ. I love it. Which i knew about this site when i was processing my parents and sister's petition back in 2000.

Just to let you all know that my hubby called USCIS today and the lady did indeed say that it can take 30 days for the system to be updated and get the cases on, but they were there and being processed. So what is a horrible delay for us is only admin after all.......!

Thats great that they are processing it and there wasn't any real cause for concern. To be honest you really aren't missing much with the sign up for updates I mean it's nice, but one can get along well without it we have to wait several months for the NOA2 anyways, for me personally I guess signing on to it gives me something to do, but I haven't seen any changes on it and not everyone gets "touches" where they'll update "last date updated" showing that they did "something" who knows what with your case heh. You can always try again later I'm sure it will eventually be updated and you can use it. Anyways for the time being just focus on getting prepared/organized with your hubby and then I'm sure everything else will fall into place for ya.

Well for me it feels both fast and slow it just depends what I am doing being busy helps the time to go by faster, but some days do feel slower than others. My ticker already says we're one month into it and I suppose if lucky there'll be around 2-3 more months to go to get to an NOA2, so maybe around middle Aug. or Sept. if we are all lucky. Just hang in there and try to stay positive!

Hi Atencio,

Thats great to hear that you are gathering doc's and getting organized, I don't know if it's that "fun" for me personally it feels like work, but worth it to get hubby here, and gathering bonafides is fun like pictures and memento's for sure. I know you'll be prepared for sure when the time comes! Keep us updated~

hmm, did you make an account at USCIS website and then put the case number/s in the portfolio? I know that on the dashboard thing says initial review for us, as it lists the steps "generalized" and they'll put in the portfolio if it's been "touched" by the "last updated date". Hope this helps as I'm not sure what you have done or haven done or if they haven't updated it for you.

Just wanted to update you guys! check was cashed June 7th I registered my case #(it was stamped in the back of my check) in USCIS website, I was in the system already so that is NOA#1, waiting for hard copy which USCIS said that was already sent!

Make sure you keep your VJ timelines up-to-date if you have made one!

I thought I'd post the checklist I'll be using for the Next step following our NOA2 and this might be anywhere from 3-6 months away, but I'm sure it's something we can encourage each other to get prepared for

This is a general checklist so adjust it to suit your needs or if you think something important was forgotten just post it please.

Forms for NVC:

___Form DS 230, Parts I and II

___Form DS 3032, Choice of Address and Agent

___Form I-864, Affidavit of Support

___Form I-864A Contract between sponsor and household member

Documents to accompany I-864

___Copy of Spouse/sponsor’s income tax returns for the last three years, with W-2s

___ Proof of sponsor’s employment (ex: can be an employment letter)

Documents to accompany Form I-864A

___ Proof of household join sponsor lives with primary sponsor (ex: drivers licence)

___ Proof that joint sponsor is related to primary sponsor (ex: birth certificate)

___ Copies of household join sponsors tax returns for last three years. (2009, 2008, 2007)

___ Proof of joint sponsor’s employment (ex: employment letter)

Documents for beneficiary to obtain:

___ Original and one photocopy of birth certificate

___ Original and one photocopy of marriage certificate

___ Original USCIS NOA 2 (Form I-797)

___ Two color photographs (passport style)

___ Police Certificate “if available”

Fees (That I know about)

DS-230 = $400.00

I'M VERY CURIOUS TO SEE WHO WILL BE THE 1ST APPROVED OF ALL PPL HERE!!

I already decided not to worry because if I think too much I want to receive NOA 2 tomorrow!! HUMAN NATURE, haha... Instead I said I will enjoy my family to the max, summer vacation, honeymoon with hubby in July-August & hopefully in fall things will turn out fine.
