At the USCIS.gov website you can sign in to see your case status. You will need your I-130 petition number from the Government that they would have mailed you. Mine starts with a "WAC" then a long number. I think I must have checked it everyday since June. The last two days are the only time that said a new date.

I never said NVC, I said USCIS. It's the first stage after you receive your NOA1. It is your "receipt number" from USCIS.

Well I called my congressmans office and spoke with a director of case work and emailed a privacy release form and a copy of my receipt notice and waiting for a reply, not sure what will be done about it and I hope I get an answer back, but at least it's something I could do while waiting in the dark here. I'm really hoping I get some news soon

I can only imagine what you're feeling, Jen. I'm sure it sucks hearing touches and approvals AFTER your case was filed.

I would call, contact congressman, whatever... Anything to lower your anxiety would be beneficial.

Hope and pray you'll hear some good news. (F)

Thanks and it's definitely confusing and a little disconserting how petitions are being approved past my notice date now, I feel a little skipped over atm, but I'm sure it'll pass once things are sorted out and I'm trying to see the big picture which is getting my hubby here safely and hopefully without much delay.

I just received an email back from the caseworker from my congress persons office and was told that there's an officer working on my case as we speak and that it should hopefully be approved within the next 2 weeks, this news makes me feel a lot better then being told to wait another 30 days from an USCIS customer rep. I'm glad called about it.

Your NOA1 date says 5/24/10 on your timeline it's only Oct. 21 so wouldn't that make the 5 month mark for you on Oct. 24, 2010?

I called USCIS on Oct. 18 and my 5 month mark was Oct. 11 2010 with a notice date of May 11, 2010 and was told I was outside of processing time now.

doesn't hurt to call them though, but maybe you should wait till it's 5 months or they'll tell you that your not out of processing time yet, idk if they put in requests early or not.
