How long do people usually have to submit their papers to NVC after getting a approval from USCIC?

I got approved 10/6 and I'm still waiting on my NVC case number to be assigned. It is almost impossible to get a hold of those people on the phone during business hours. I think I'm even more frustrated now then before.

My NVC Journey

10/6/10 - Case approved by USCIS

10/18/10 – NVC received the file

10/18/10 - NVC case # generated; Embassy assigned - Nassau

10/18/10 - Called NVC and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email addresses

10/19/10 - Beneficiary emailed DS-3032 to NVC

10/27/10 - Paid AOS fee $ 88.00

10/28/10 - Emailed DS-3032 again to Attn: Supervisor Sue

10/29/10 - AOS fee shown as PAID

10/30/10 - Received DS-3032 kit via email (NVC emailed it to the wrong email address for the beneficiary and realized their mistake on 11/1)

11/01/10 - AOS package expressed mailed (next day delivery)

11/01/10 - Beneficiary received confirmation of original emailed DS-3032 (emailed 10/20)

11/01/10 - IV fee bill generated and paid same day

11/03/10 - IV fee bill shown as PAID

Well I just got off the phone after calling USCIS and talking with a customer rep for the first time, she seemed a bit more helpful from what I might have expected, but there was no more news which I was hoping for, the rep put in a request on the petition for me and said we were out of normal processing time which I knew of course and to wait 30 days more as well as wait for any phone correspondence if they have any news or questions.

I hope I don't have to wait that long because people around the vj timeline slot are being approved so I'm praying really hard that our's is just gonna be slightly late and that I'll maybe have something to look forward to this week.

Wish us some luck,

Jen and Geert

yea it's definitely dumb for lack of a better word or one's I would not use in good company, heh. All we can do right now is hope for the best and thats what I'm trying my hardest to do, hopefully the pace will pick back up with approvals. I probably won't wait 30 days to call again either, I'll give it 10 more buisness days at max then call that's about as much patience that I can muster for now lol.

So when is a good time to really contact congressmen etc. I mean they can help only a little right and if there's serious injustice they can put pressure to get them to make a decision, so where does that put us with being a few weeks overdue etc., what can/will they do if we contact them, and when's a good time to do so?
