I thought I'd mention for anyone who didn't know or might benefit to know about igor's list

I think the best way to view it is select view all petitions and sorting by first NOA of course as well as your cr1/ir1 visa and service center that way it's a more complete picture.

I do notice more on the april list are getting the NOA2 so thats good news nothing extra for may yet, but they go in order so they won't get to may till they've finished april excluding expidites and other circumstances.

Thanks Emily =)

I've been looking forward to hearing about your case it looks like it wasn't too long of a wait for NVC so thats good news.

I have some questions

1. When do you get the NVC# ? I remember reading something about it but forgot.

when you get NOA-2 wait 3-4 days and start calling NVC you follow the prompts and enter your USCIS # I got mine 9 days after NOA-2

2. How does the Barcode thing work? Do you get it after submiting a payment?

YES you print out and send with your documents

Thanks again,

Jen and Geert

good luck on your interview when it comes along~

As soon as you get your NVC# call back and give them your email and your spouse then send out the DS3032 choice of agent by email. I used the template that I found in Ling-Che shortcuts, mine was accepted in 11 days take a look at my signature at end of this response

This is kinda odd!

I checked my case status on Friday and it had been touched - the first time! I got all excited then realised it was probably because my USC hubby has moved this week and notified USCIS of change of address so they must have been updating that on the file. THEN...I checked again tonight, dont know why, just being anally retentive lol, and I got a touch today as well. Also I noticed there is a thread on the home page from several other VJ'ers saying they have been touched today too. Could it be USCIS have got extra staff in or are doing overtime to help with the backlog? That would be great if so! I dont want to get my hopes up too much, but I am intrigued.....

Oh also, we have 3 petitions, 1 for me and 1 each for my 2 sons. One of them hasnt been touched at all. Thats worrying me a bit, why would they do something to 2 and not the other one? Dont they keep family groups together?

USCIS

21.5.10 - NOA1

17.11.10 - NOA2 (there was a hold up due to incorrect information put on forms by our lawyer)

NVC

16.12.10 - All fees paid and everything received at NVC

05.1.11 - SIF and CC for my case only. Get RFE for my 2 sons as lawyer made ANOTHER mistake and made errors on I-864's for the children.

10.1.11 - Corrected I-864's received at NVC via Fedex

14.11.11 - Corrected paperwork entered on system according to AVR

17.1.11 - Medicals done

27.1.11 - My husband calls his senator's office and asks for help to get things moving.

31.1.11 - Finally got SIF for my sons!

01.2.11 - CC (Phoned DOS as NVC shut due to weather and they told me paperwork was completed at NVC on 1st Feb)

10.2.11 - Interview date assigned

15.3.11 - Interview - APPROVED!!!

The uscis case updates through the website isn't 100% accurate from what I read, I haven't gotten a touch since May so I guess I could end up being one of those who don't get a touch but then gets an NOA2 or still might get a touch. If you filed them together they are suppose to process them together, but if your worried you might look into it or you could wait a bit longer to see what happens.

There are 2 service centers named CSC and VSC. CSC employs 1010 I-130 adjudicators and VSC employs 505 I-130 adjudicators.

In the U.S, every year there are 750,000 I-130 petitioners say all are USC petitioners. They send their package to Chicago Lock box. TLA for it, let's say CLB. CLB checks the load of each SC and forwards it to them. Say 500,000 went to CSC and 250,000 went to VSC.

Always at a particular time, 10 employees in CSC and 5 employees of VSC are on vacation since they are humans. Now let's do a math again. Balance employees in CSC is 1000 and in VSC 500.

A Quiz - How many petitions each CSC and VSC employee gets for an equal distribution?

Ummmmm... Nobody answers. Let me calculate. CSC employee gets 500 and VSC employee gets 500.

Some of the employees in each SC are hardworking. What does that mean? They don't smoke, don't go to pantry so often and do not discuss about their dogs and cats at office. They process 5 petitions a day. Those hardly working employees process 4 petitions a day.

Now another quiz! How many working days in a month? Take out 4 Sat, 4 Sun and 1 or 2 holidays. Let's assume 20 working days.

During this process, some name checks are initiated. This is really not a spelling check. First name, Last name, DOB etc. are fed into another system and they get an output. Some names bleed, some not. Sometimes, some innocent names also bleed. Bleeding names will be hospitalized to get some more cure. Non-bleeding ones come back to the SC.

Ok! Now out of non-bleeding ones, some missed to include a previous divorce decree, some included a copy of marriage certificate which not clearly readable, so on an so forth. Now the employee is interested to see those originals. They issue another sweet TLA named RFE. Some petitioners will respond immediately to this RFE. Some may be on vacation or busy getting some of the documents from various sources.

Ok, final quiz! How many months it takes for a petition to be processed? Let's take a ball park.

Hard working employee gets 500 petitions and 20 working days in a month and process 5 per day. To process a petition on an average takes 5 months! Oh boy! This doesn't mean the first petition is processed on day 1. Since previous petitions are in his/her queue. Hence the term - recurring process!

Hardly working employee gets 500 petitions and 20 working days in a month and process 4 per day. To process a petition on an average takes more than 6 months! Oh geez!

Finally they take a cumulative average and put in this website: https://egov.uscis.g...TimesDisplay.do

Loto

Footenote: This work out is purely hypothetical for an illustrative purpose!

A quote from LotOfPatience that I though was interesting and also logical, but unfortunately most of us are thinking more on an emotional rather than logical point of view, most people in today's society are impatient and want things now/quickly and that can be logical too because life is short and we all want to live and love to be with our families to move on with our lives, but the double edge of the sword is most things worth waiting for in life take time.

It is just another trial that we must go through, but I'm thankful that we are the one's who have the kind of resources like visa journey and others to get through a difficult time, that we don't have to wait as long as people have before us so when I look at it that way I can find a bit of a positive balance and pray that things really don't take forever even though it may feel that way right now.

The quote on time/man power needed to process form makes sense. The hard part to understand especially for us that are waiting is that the 6 or so months leading up to March applicants there were a lot of people getting their NOA-2's very fast. In my case at least, I was looking at those numbers originally.

So, if we do the math CSC approves 100 petitions a month. What I hate is the presence of k1, because i think they approve like 75 k1s & 25 cr1/ir1!! Anyway now I think they will turn to us because ppl are already calling saying that they exceeded 5 months. I cant hardly wait to get to 5 months to call them and bugg them!!!! :bonk:

Jenny, I heard really heartbreaking news, bad news. Some ppl that got approved & now are at NVC say that just to asign nb takes 6-8 weeks or if not NVC stage will probably take 3 months. I thought we're going to fly through it, use shortcuts & stuff. Dont know what to belive anymore!!:help:
