Hi,

My hard copy came as dated April 29. So I would like to be in this group. I am new on this forum so I do not know how to add fency time lines.

M. Yunus

Hi welcome =),

at the top top right corner of webpage is your username and a dropdown box underneath is a link that says "settings" and from there click on profile tab to change signature and you can add a timeline or whatever you prefer to add there it's optional =).

The best way to find out what's where on the website is to explore around since there is a lot of information on here I find it useful to learn as much as I can and be prepared so the journey will be as smooth as possible, it's mostly waiting thats the hard part imo, but we are here to encourage and help each other get through this process =). Keep us updated on your status~

Best wishes,

Jen and Geert

Hubby decided to email his congressman. Our case should be simple and hopefully we fly through the NVC process. We figured it can't hurt.

I'm trying to hang in day after day, it is becoming increasingly difficult though. :crying:

Hi!! The thing is that if you see most marchers who have called the congressman is cus they are beyond 150 days which is the "normal processing time" but USCIS is saying that we should wait some time (btwn 30 to 45 days after the 5 months to get some answer, I am in 132 day of waiting and there are some april filers who are beyond the 5 months, you imagine how upset we are, I cannot complain yet till I get to the 150 day and it will be in 3 weeks now :( and seriosuly I dont think all aprils will get approved in those 3 weeks left, if they do oh God, it will be awesome, but tjey took so long aproving March that I doubt it, and as I think everytime I get upset is that there's no other option bt waiting, which sucks, cus my anniversary is next 7th November and I wont be with my baby :(

just keep your "patience" which most of us are running out by now :crying:

I wouldn't say I'm cheerful I"m just trying to see the silver lining despite the dire situation and trying to put a positive spin on it for myself and everyone coming here to find answers and support, there are people who have been waiting longer than I have so I can't complain too much. I feel even though I think it's horrible how long they make people wait and how the system is messed up, I don't see anything that can be done except wait till we can take some action or till they send an NOA2, I'm trying to stay busy which helps me not stress about waiting, I've missed out on a lot of special times not being able to spend them in person with my husband, but thats what I signed up for when I decided to marry him we knew there would be a trial of us bridging a gap between our distance which is unfortunate that it is so difficult to do, but I feel that if we can get through this in the end than we can accomplish anything together.

I agree with Jen and Geert. The Waiting time is a hard time, but this time shows how much important for people to be together or no.

My husband has arrived to me and he will be here a whole month. I hope very much, that it will be successful month for our expectation. For now we do not think of this expectation. As they say we have released a situation and it will be resolved somehow. It is not necessary to be nervous and think of when when when. It is necessary to enjoy the beautiful autumn, presence of my beloved husbund, even work. It is necessary to live for today. Then everything will be fine.

Good luck everybody!

Jen and Geert! Happy birthday! Sorry for late congratulations!

P.S. By the way my birthday is on September, 27 too.

I just look at the timelines and get annoyed. I see on the visa approvals list that someone who applied for a CR-1 visa at the same time as me has already been through the whole process and is leaving for the US next week. Why cant that be me?? Doesnt say anything on their profile about illness/expedite either.

Also, if you look at the stats, May is starting to lag behind June now! I think it sucks, I really do. I get the feeling me and my husband will always be apart, thats what it feels like right now.

Hi Jen as promised here is exactly what I sent to NVC I hope it helps you or anyone else...I got SIF 9/16 and Case Complete 9/17 and now waiting for interview. Also NVC processed my documents in 3 weeks and 2 days, so the 6-8 weeks they tell you, not really true. The AVR and calling NVC is not the best way to check if case is complete, signing in to payment portal is the most accurate way. The day my case was done I spoke to an operator that told me my papers were still in review expect 6-8 weeks for completion...1 hour later I signed into pay portal and I got SIF. I had no RFE.

Any questions just let me know...Also April filers are getting their NOA 2 so hope it continues to go faster. Good luck to you! Also on every paper submitted to NVC my NVC # written with black (sharpie) on the upper right hand corner.

  • Cover sheet with barcode from NVC
  • Cover letter with list of documents included
Form DS230 part 1 signed by spouse
  • Form DS230 part 2 unsigned
  • two pictures with all info in back of them
  • biographic page of his passport
  • birth cerificate translated plus copy
  • marriage certificate translated plus copy
  • background certificate translated plus copy

I-864

  • Cover letter
  • Cover sheet from NVC
  • I-864 completed and signed by me
  • Tax transcript for 2009 with W2
  • paystubs for the last 8 months
  • employment letter
  • Divorce decree with child support order (signed by judge)
  • Stipulation of divorce agreement (tab on bottom on section pertaining to child support) signed by judge
  • Check images from my bank account for child support payment (last 6 months)
  • copy of us passport (probably did not need since I-130 has proof of citizenship

I-864 my joint sponsor (Just in case child support is not going to be considered)

  • Form I-864 completed and signed
  • 2009 tax returns
  • W2
  • employment letter

That's all folks!!

I've been busy with work and just started a renovation project on the living and dining rooms which I love to do so that has kept me distracted and a little less burden on being worried, I look forward to autumn but winter is my favorite =) and by winter I'm sure there'll be an interview to go to. Happy early birthday to you also and thank you from the both of us. I really do feel everything will work itself out with a little nudge when needed.

I've been looking forward to hearing about your case it looks like it wasn't too long of a wait for NVC so thats good news.

I have some questions

1. When do you get the NVC# ? I remember reading something about it but forgot.

2. How does the Barcode thing work? Do you get it after submiting a payment?

Thanks again,

Jen and Geert

good luck on your interview when it comes along~

May 2010 CR-1/IR-1 Filers Thread

“Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (Corinthians 13:4-7)
