I'm not doing ok at all, neither is my hubby in the US. The wait is killing us, the lack of control, and the total absence of any sort of update (our case never did get on the USCIS website). We are both suffering really badly from stress and my hubby has stomach problems because of it.

I'm just beside myself right now :(

USCIS

17.11.10 - NOA2 (there was a hold up due to incorrect information put on forms by our lawyer)

05.1.11 - SIF and CC for my case only. Get RFE for my 2 sons as lawyer made ANOTHER mistake and made errors on I-864's for the children.

10.1.11 - Corrected I-864's received at NVC via Fedex

14.11.11 - Corrected paperwork entered on system according to AVR

17.1.11 - Medicals done

Okay all here is my little update.

So Today I called the Customer Service Center and spoke to a lady by the name of Sharon. After I explained my situation to her and advised her that I was a former government employee, she escalated my call to an immigration officer by the name of Gonzales. Now this is the information that I was given to the delay.

1. CSC is on complete overload with I-130 petitions and they have sent out an alert to all customer service agents that anyone calling to wait an additional 20 days before starting a service request for escalation.

2. This is a myth-buster. The applications for Haitian and Chilean nationals is not affecting the process of I-130 applications. This is because USCIS has set up a completely different section to handle only those applications.

3. Immigration Officer confirmed that the online site is a piece of Junk!!!!! And should not be used as a sole purpose of checking.

4. This was interesting to hear. That they often will pull applications for quality assurance and that will slow the process down for that applicant. (LUCK OF THE DRAW FOR THAT UNLUCKY SOUL).

5. Here is another interesting fact. Immigration Officer says that the USCIS timeline does follow CSC actual processing timeline as of today. Also stated that CSC will be on overload until around October 2010.

6. He advised that anyone that has passed the 5 month mark and 20 days should start calling so a service request can be placed.

7. (Local offices) Immigration officer stated that not much can be done from a local office. All they will do is the same thing that he did for me over the phone.

8. New information. When you call the 1-800-375-5283 number. All that person does on the phone is the same thing we do, which is check the online status board . The only difference is that they can attempt to place the service request before sending to an immigration officer for escalation.

Well I am still going to make my appointment on Monday, just to see if what he told me was the gospel truth. But he did tell me that my application was updated as of July 22. Which the online status board does not show.

So I hope this gives all of you some insight to what the heck is going on with the CSC office.

Overload is not the term I would use for the way USCIS is. Disorganized would be a closer term. I see many cases going from NOA1 to NOA2 in 4 or 5 weeks and some cases in 5 months. I see cases going from start to finish in 5 months, and many cases 12 months. All we can do is wait, and wait, and wait.

Just joining the throng. I filed the I-130 for my Chinese wife Xifeng on May 13 and we are waiting (im)patiently for our NOA2.

I'm helping time pass by studying Mandarin, and she's studying English. Our Skype conversations sound like classroom lectures sometimes.

It looks like it will be a long time before she gets scheduled for her interview.

I can empathize with people who are feeling helpless and overwhelmed by the opacity of the system.

It would be nice to have a human contact me and say "hang in there...we'll get to you soon!"

Welcome fellow may filer =)

Yea I totally agree with that it's like our petitions go into a black hole and we dunno when they'll pop back up to see the light of day heh, hopefully we'll hear some news sooon. I'm definitely anxious to visit my husband again unfortunately I'm stuck in a position where I can't just make a trip over there so I am waiting for interview time, it's dificult that I haven't seen him in person since feb. even visiting isn't good enough though because I finally want us to live together permanently, but we are trying to hang in there. Good luck with learning Mandarin and your wife English sounds fun~ feel free to keep us updated =)

I spend so much time on this web site and I never really followed the May fillers thread, which is a shame cause it sure helps to ###### about how slowly the process goes.

So hello guys! I sure hope to see May fillers receiving NOA2 soon...maybe after Labor day...hopefully.

Does anybody know how April is moving? I'm not quite sure if Igor's list is accurate cause it only shows a couple of April cases being approved. It would be really bad if USCIS is STILL working mostly on March cases... :(

I see... I can see that your 5 months are up on 5th Sep... I hope you will get an approval in the next few days. It really is painfull to sit and wait and not being able to do anything. I kinda want to blame the summer vacations for this delay ... donno but they must keep their timeframe... at least that.

Today, I hit 119 days since filing. Oh how cruel. Next month will be four months in this tedious process. I have not grown faint nor weary but a bit tired.

Well as we approach September, I pray that we will begin to receive approvals. But it seems like for us May filers it will be more like October based on Igor's list

I don't think a lawyer would make a difference as well, as it would just cost more money on your part the lawyer doesn't do a whole lot in my opinion except help with forms and in cases where someone has had other problems that might get them denied a visa or trouble getting one, that and I've read of stories where a lawyer could slow down the process for you like what angelheart said. You already sent off the I-130 so no point in a lawyer unless there's some problems later down the line, but it's your choice. No clue why some in June got approved could have been expidite who knows  , I feel your pain though with the waiting, hopefully soon we'll see some light at the end of this dark tunnel we are all in.
