Yea I figured because that's right in the middle of the holidays, but I'm sure after is a good time at the beginning of the year, like the march filers seemed to have been going at a nice pace. I hope this year will be a good year for better processing times. Still says 5 months though for I-130 though

Yea, Officially, they always say 5 months though for I-130, but usually people get NOA2 2-4 months :)

I think I can patiently wait for that NOA 2 I mean it gives time to prepare things for NVC I guess and fee's, I'm most anxious for my NOA 1 though! heh

It'd be a relief to be 2-4 rather than 5 or more months though, but I suppose they always put the max amount of time for the processing rates.

Just my two cents.... Use this time wisely.

Start lining up your documents for NVC, like you said. If you need a co-sponsor, get that all taken care of now. Check into police certificate requirements and validity. If you can get that before your NOA2, but before it expires, it'll be good. Same with the medical. If it's valid for a year, why not get it done now? Hubby can have his entire immunization series done. Or, if immunizations at the medical are super-expensive (as they are in most places) Hubby can start the immunizations now. Get creative with webcam pictures, being sure to include time and date somewhere in the pictures themselves. You can download time/date widgets off the web.

We were pretty organized. Husby got his PCC in January. We got NOA2 in February. So it was alright. But I still wish we had done more. Dealing with NVC rollercoasters for 2 months is not fun. Especially when you can get through it so much faster.

Something to think about through the whole process: Are there any of Hubby's possessions he can sent over before he comes? That way there aren't 15 big boxes to be shipped at the time he leaves for the US. Books? Trinkets? Not now, per se. Just to have them trickle in over the process.

Good luck on your journey! Save all your anxiousness for the NVC step.

Oh, I'm also looking for a job. And since I'm already done gathering NVC documents (except PCC, they have 90 day validity), nothing better than going to the gym and sweating the anxiety out!

Good luck to all! =)

Yea I can understand using the time wisely, but I can only do so much immigration work before going insane from the stress of research and paperwork lol. Hubby has been working up on immunizations the basics at least as only the doctor can tell you what immunizations are still appropriate depending on condition/age, and I thought that you can't have the medical exam until you have the appointment letter??

As far as a co-sponsor I got that already and I filled AOS and stuff what I already could (some can't be fully filled out yet and others I plan to do electronically)I think for the netherlands you have to speak with the consulate about getting a police certificate you can't get them personally. As far as moving goes hubby plans to send a couple of boxes a month so that it's not all at once luckly there's no furniture to deal with just boxes "Phew".

We're pretty organized got a large accordian file with lables and going to further organize with folders extra copies of things, as well as new bonafides and coordinating with each other.

But, I have got my hobbies to help the time pass by which helps deal with anxiousness and stress!

Well I got a small update:

I got my green return receipt from sending my packet certified mail so I got proof that they received it now. No sign of them cashing the check yet but I'll be keeping this thread updated as much as possible on my case. It has only been 4 buisness days (don't count weekends) since they received the I-130 Packet, so it should be fine for now. =)

I had read some of the March 2010 CR1 filers topic and tried to see if there was one for this month but I don't think there is? Anyways I just wanted to be included as well as anyone else who wants to give updates here on their newly started Journey's =).

If you filed in late April or May share it here please!

My update:

Yesterday I mailed off my I-130 Packet and checked the status of it just now(I'm anxious lol) me and my hubby will go for consular processing in the end if all goes well, I look forward to visiting Holland again then also and getting to see my husband again (it has been almost 3 months since our last visit which isn't too bad but it still feels like an eternity).

Update!:

I checked to see if they had processed the I-130 fee on my bank and saw that it was cashed =) so this should mean I'll be getting an NOA 1 soon I hope!

I hope everyone else's experiences are going well or will be starting soon =)

May 2010 CR-1/IR-1 Filers Thread

“Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (Corinthians 13:4-7)
